POSITION : Geologist

EPORTING TO : Head of Peninsular and Sabah Project

DIVISION/DEPARTMENT : Exploration Project

LOCATION : KL Office

1. KEY OBJECTIVES

• Regional and prospect-specific assessment of exploration potential of exploration blocks.
• Develop high quality prospect inventory, integrating regional studies and latest technology, mature prospects to ready-to-drill.
• Well Planning, execution and operational (drilling) for exploration and appraisal wells.

2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Integrate existing and new well and seismic interpretations into regional and prospect evaluations and databases.
• Identify and mature opportunities into ready-to-drill prospect, including the appraisal potential.

• Carry out resource assessment consistent with industry practices through the integration of geological, petrophysical and dynamic reservoir data.
• Prepare prospect prognosis including well proposal and well planning.
• Well surveillance, monitoring of exploration and appraisal well including well-sitting if required.
• Plan and manage studies by geological service contractors in a time and cost-efficient manner.
• Present results and give recommendations to team, Management and Partners/Petronas.
• Prepare reports or documentation such as post drill results, ADP / FDP / Gas Holding

3. KEY AUTHORITIES

• As provided/assigned by Head of Peninsular and Sabah Project

4. WORKING RELATIONSHIP

• Liaise with immediate team members and extended team members in Subsurface and Drilling including JV Partners.

5. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Degree in Geology with good standing or higher degree (MSc) in related subject.
• Proficiency in industry-standard geoscience software (Landmark, ArcGIS etc).
• Preference to those with experience in active exploration evaluation and operations.
• Energetic self-starter who enjoys working in small teams with tight deadlines.
• Ability to adapt working detail to different time constraints.
• Excellent written and verbal English
