That\'s where the Technology Development team comes in.About the roleWe are looking for a Graduate Acoustics & Vibration Engineer to join our Technology Development team, to support the key performance development of our new floorcare products.Working as part of a small team you will be responsible for the full product acoustics and vibration performance and concerned with limiting unwanted noise and focus on maximizing the clarity and quality of desired sound. You will be working alongside the design team to create new ways to measure and predict key performance parameters; and ensure that our technologies are up to meeting their ambitious targets. You will use a mixture of test, simulation, and engineering judgement to solve the problems that arise as we develop our technologies and products. You will work from the very early stages of a project, taking responsibility of development when the technologies leave the research stage, developing them to a feasible solution and then supporting our SEA counterparts to take them through to production.Some of your tasks could include:Identify and manage product/sub-assembly/part level challenges associated with product performance and resolve them successfully.Work side by side with the Design Manager and design engineering for allocated projects and provide technical consultancies and advice the dimension that critical to performance through system diagram.Conduct experiments or other relevant analysis methods and tools to develop and validate our understanding and solutions.Ability to identify risk and keep all stakeholders up to date on progress and status of allocated projects.Confidently and clearly present and articulate ideas to audience in both written and verbal communication.Drive analysis of data, ensure robust test methodology and conclusive proposals for timely delivery of solutions and verification report using basic competency in Matlab, Minitab, Excel and/or Python.Build and maintain effective working relationships with design engineers and broader cross teams at all levels.Our Graduate ProgrammeOur graduate programme is designed to help you drive your career at Dyson with a two-year journey to help you grow both personally and professionally. You may have the opportunity to rotate into a variety of teams to support your professional development.About youOur graduate roles are competitive and delivering the next generation of Dyson technology is tough, so you will need to be:Graduating by August 2024Working towards or have achieved a bachelor\'s or master\'s degree in Mechanical or Acoustical Engineering (other relevant engineering disciplines will be considered).A good working knowledge of the fundamentals of fluid dynamics, noise & vibration, and physics.A sound understanding of experimental methods and processes, particularly in noise and vibration measurement.A good understanding of the principles and application of CFD methods.A good working knowledge of commercial CAD tools, preferably NX.A good working knowledge of Matlab or any other adequate analysis tools.A good working knowledge on MS Office Excel, Words, Power Point.High levels of initiative and self-motivation.Good analytical ability and attention to detail.Ability to communicate appropriate, concise, and accurate information in written and verbal format.To be able to multi-task and plan effectively when working with a variety of project teams and projects in an often high-pressure, competitive environment and adapt to work in a fast-paced environment.Excellent team-working skillsTo be eligible you will need to have no more than two years of relevant work experience post-graduation (Phd students are not eligible for our graduate programmes).For your application to be considered, please upload 1) your detailed resume and 2) transcript (all semesters inclusive) in a single file together with your online application.Dyson is an equal opportunity employer.
