Job Description


Role Description: This is a Head of Internal Audit position in Kuching, Sarawak. The position will be responsible for the organisation\'s internal audit service, including drawing up the internal audit strategy and annual plan and giving the annual audit opinion. Responsible in providing objective assurance, advice and anticipative value-added support to functions in order to enhance decision-making and fully safeguard processes and assets as the company grows and delivers value. Act in advisory role in key Board Committees. Job Success Factors: Planning, managing and coordinating of all Internal Audit activities of the Group and its subsidiaries. Provide assurance on compliance to statutory requirements, laws, company policies and guidelines. Monitor the effectiveness of the risk management program and ensure the adequacy of the internal control system. Maintain current knowledge of laws and regulations, keeping abreast of recent changes and emerging trends of internal audit around technologies as the company continues to adopt technologies in its business. Understand and analyze risk associated with technologies using data analytics to identify emerging risk and recommend appropriate control. Issue audit reports to the Audit Committee and Management to highlight key audit issues based on the outcome of risk-based audits completed and provide recommendations for improvements or remedial actions to strengthen the internal controls, manage risks and to improve business and governance processes. Perform other tasks as required by the board, audit committee or the management, in the interest of the company. Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master\'s degree or professional certifications such as CPA, CIA, or CISA preferred). A minimum of 8 years of experience in internal audit, with a focus on the property and construction industry. Strong knowledge of auditing standards, risk management, and internal control frameworks. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication abilities. Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office. Previous work experiences in property and construction industry is an additional advantage. Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
