Job Description


Objective:

  • Support CRICO in managing investment, fund, and retail-related risks through effective risk management strategies, processes, and tools.
Responsibilities:Operations:
  • Review, recommend, and enhance IAM\'s risk management policies, frameworks, methodologies, and systems.
  • Ensure efficient identification, prevention, detection, and mitigation of risks.
  • Oversee the IAM risk management framework and maintain an effective governance structure.
  • Coordinate risk management efforts across IAM and Group.
  • Provide ongoing education, briefings, and training to management.
  • Review and enhance risk training programs for Risk Champions and operational teams.
  • Develop and update the Group\'s risk appetite and measurement strategies.
  • Embed risk management into business processes and transactions, ensuring they align with the approved risk appetite.
External Responsibilities:Best Practices and Industry Trends:
  • Stay informed about current risk management best practices and emerging risks.
  • Advise CRICO and management on industry trends and changes.
  • Continuously improve IAM and Risk Management Framework as needed.
Risk Management Activities:Risk Identification:
  • Design and enhance processes for timely risk identification within IAM and the Group.
  • Continuously analyze potential risks to assets, earnings, and success.
  • Provide quality assessments of inherent and residual risks, impact, and likelihood.
  • Lead risk workshops and programs.
  • Serve as the key point of contact and subject matter expert for IAM risk activities.
  • Work with management to integrate risk mitigation into operational processes.
Risk Updates:
  • Ensure quarterly updates and sign-offs on risk registers by respective champions.
  • Conduct annual reviews of enterprise risks and treatment plans.
  • Review risk assessments for major proposals and initiatives.
  • Provide independent feedback on key risk matters to CRICO, Senior Management, and the Board.
  • Escalate significant risk issues to CRICO and GMD when necessary.
  • Develop and report Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to Senior Management.
  • Participate in relevant meetings, such as Project, Operational, Strategy, and CAPEX meetings.
Risk Monitoring:
  • Manage the risk monitoring process for IAM and Strategy teams.
  • Review and validate key risk impacts, mitigation strategies, and ratings.
  • Lead risk reviews or validations as needed.
  • Prepare and review GRM validation reports for CRICO approval.
Risk Reporting:
  • Finalize and review Group Risk reports for submission to various committees and the Board.
  • Ensure timely risk reporting by operational and functional teams.
Business Continuity Management (BCM):
  • Coordinate and enhance Business Continuity Planning (BCP) for IAM.
  • Ensure ongoing effectiveness of BCP in collaboration with Senior Management.
Risk Administration/Operations:
  • Lead and manage the IAM Risk team, ensuring delivery of mandates and KPIs.
  • Develop and implement the annual risk plan and budget.
  • Provide regular updates to CRICO on risk management activities.
  • Manage team assignments, performance evaluations, training, and certification.
  • Support Group Compliance Office in executing Risk and Compliance Annual Plans and Programs.
Other Functions:
  • Assist in developing and maintaining ERM communication tools and methodologies.
  • Provide advisory services to improve departmental risk management capabilities.
  • Help develop and implement risk management tools and systems.
  • Establish clear working relationships with operational teams to avoid overlap in managing risks and controls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
RequirementsImpact and Accountability
  • Deliver the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Risk Strategy and Annual Plans.
  • Achievement of GRM\xe2\x80\x99s set targets and deliverables.
  • Works meets or exceed Risk standards & methodologies and expectation.
  • Aid Enterprise and Operational Risk team and if required, GCO to achieve overall Risk and Compliance targets and deliverables.
  • Committed to continuous improvement methodology and maintaining good client relationship.
  • Maintain high ethical conduct, independence, and confidentiality in performance of duties as Risk Officer.
Education/Professional Qualifications\xc2\xb7 Possess at least a Professional Degree/Certificate, Bachelor\'s Degree, Post Graduate Degree
  • Investment, Fund Management and Risk Governance related education will be an added advantage.
  • At least 5 years in Investment and Fund Management experience.
  • At least 3 years in current position (VPII or VP1).
  • Real estate and risk related experience will be an added advantage.
  • At least 8 years of overall work experience.
  • Driven, analytical, good attention to detail and ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
Skill Sets:
  • Good business sense/acumen.
  • Have strong financial knowledge.
  • Good communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strategy thinker (ability to do strategic risk assessment) and have good analytical skill.
  • Adaptability (new concerns and changing environment) and able to think on his/her feet (problem solving)
  • Leadership and people management skills (able to manage various level of stakeholders)
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
