Primary Objective:

  • This position is the SME advisor to the executive level on all matters related to Software Testing on a group-wide basis cutting across all LOBs and across regions in RHB Group
  • As the key advisor to senior management on the development and implementation of the overall Guidelines, Methodology and Policies covering short and long-term goals of the organization in relation to Software Testing
  • Demonstrates leadership in Software Testing and is able to represent RHB Group in this industry
  • Creates strong stakeholders relationships both internally and externally with the ability to influence stakeholders expectations and ensuring they are aligned to program objectives
  • Champions the growth and development of the Testing Center of Excellence (TCOE) in all aspects from resources, methodology, governance, policies, executions, implementations.
  • Implement controls and strategies that will direct staff activities in solving complex business/technical issues within established testing guidelines and policies based on subject matter expertise and industry best practices
  • Leads and implements the testing strategies and approaches for key complex projects leading to successful implementations
  • Creates, directs and monitors operational and tactical activities of software testing of a large teams of staff cutting across all various domains and entities in RHB Group
  • Implements and manages the development plans for staff within the TCOE team
  • Spearheads the training and expansion of software testing capabilities within RHB Group
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and manage Project technical testing activities across multiple projects / programs to meet project target objectives i.e. scope, timeline and budget. Technical testing activities comprises software testing analysis and planning, managing overall project software testing execution (i.e. SIT, UAT, system performance test, security tests, software automation test) and conducting post project implementation quality assessment.
  • Provide technical advice to Project stakeholders (i.e. Project Sponsor, Project Director, Project Manager, Business Users, Application Development team, Infrastructure team, IT Security team) pertaining to technical testing such as performance test, data conversion / migration testing, software automation testing and Operational Readiness Testing (ORT).
  • Establish and execute effectively the Test Governance Framework in order to address Audit, Risk and Compliance matters (i.e. BNM guidelines, and/or other regulatory bodies) during the execution of IT projects, working closely with the Project Managers
  • Plan, manage and coordinate the Testing Environment (i.e. SIT/UAT) to meet the project testing requirements such as comprehensiveness and accuracy of test data, system dates, test devices, user access IDs, batch job schedule.
  • Operates as a specialist and consultant on all aspects of software testing and provides advice to IT and Business stakeholders and senior management to determine the most appropriate testing strategies for complex projects within the constraints and operational requirements of the organisation
  • Drives resolution of difficult situations pertaining to software testing that have significant business impact in RHB Group (across LOBs and Regions)
  • Deliver strong leadership skill with proven ability to manage and support Testing activities for large and complex cross-functional and high cost projects in Group Technology Services
  • Apply deep and broad technical and business experience and knowledge of industry to drive the development of organizational directions, strategies, working models for software testing
  • Manage/influence changes in internal and/or vendor-provided products/service offerings.
  • Establish and implement the policy standards and methodology for business process testing, including the framework for assessing the risks and mitigations
  • Plan and implement learning and development requirements for Software Testing of individuals and groups in line with the business needs
  • Manage and ensure TCOE process adoption across the organization in order to build a well-structure and well-controlled testing life cycle environment
  • To conduct the test planning activities at early stage within the testing life cycle in order to minimize the testing effort variance.
  • Responsible for the administration, supervision, coaching, appraisal, development and performance management of staff within the team/section. Provides advanced technical leadership and direction to staff
  • Mentor / coach the resources on testing processes to ensure they are able to advance their career in testing industry
  • Retain skilled testing personnel to ensure the team is able to deliver task efficiently and in-line with the team goal.
  • Grow the centralized Testing Team of TCOE so that the team is able to support group-wide testing initiatives.
  • Manage the team cost in line with the Group\xe2\x80\x99s cost saving initiatives
  • Develop the TCOE team structure to be relevant and sufficient to support projects across RHB Group
  • Assess and ensure the projects undertaken by team members meets the Testing goals and objectives
  • Manage and develop team staffing plan, identify hiring needs, develop the job scope, conduct recruitments
  • Manage suppliers\xe2\x80\x99 contracts, drive contracts discussion with suppliers, identifies the areas of negotiation, facilitate the negotiations sessions with suppliers
Requirements

Requirements:
Bachelor Degree - .

- \xe2\x80\xa2 ISTQB Certified Tester (Foundation Level) \xe2\x80\xa2 ISTQB Certified Test Manager (Advanced Level)

12 years or working experience in test projects, including 8 years in a lead or management position in areas relevant to testing / tools.
10 years of working experience in team leadership. Has experience to manage a large team size of staffs (direct employee). Leading a Test Management Professionals comprising Test Managers, Test Leads, and Test Analysts. * Preferably with working experience in banking industry
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the software engineering process
  • Strong in Project Management and Vendor Management
  • Experience in a wide variety of testing efforts, techniques and tools, people skills, especially diplomacy and advocacy skills, planning and management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Aggressive, results-oriented with excellent relationship-building skills.
