Job Description


Our client, a pioneering logistics company located in Kuching, Sarawak, seeks a Human Resource Manager to leverage expertise in driving workforce strategy for their rapidly growing supply chain business. Operating the state\'s first ammonia refrigeration facility for over 20 years, they enable major companies\' local expansion through industry-leading supply chain solutions.

The ideal candidate will lead and direct HR functions for five companies, ensuring comprehensive support, positive employee experience, and culture, besides having proven success in managing complex HR programs across multiple organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR leadership.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with the overall business objectives of the group companies.
  • Review, execute, and enforce HR Policies, SOPs, and Employee Contracts for the group with senior management.
  • Advise senior management on human resources-related legal risks and opportunities to ensure compliance within the group.
  • Provide analytics and forecasting related to talent management, compensation planning and benefits, employee retention, and long-term HR planning.
  • Partner with senior management to identify and address key HR challenges and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across all companies.
  • Hold a quarterly or bi-annual meeting with senior management on reports for potential areas of improvement, company culture, timeline, overview, feedback, and solutions.
  • Talent Pipeline Development and Management.
  • Oversee all aspects of the recruitment and selection process, ensuring efficient and effective hiring practices.
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal and management system that drives high performance for different employee groups across all companies.
  • Develop performance metrics to measure the productivity and efficiency of employees.
  • Develop and implement proper employee onboarding and training programs.
  • Develop and oversee an effective succession planning process that identifies high-potential employees and prepares them for leadership roles.
  • Compensation and Benefits.
  • Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits packages for all employee groups.
  • Conduct compensation benchmarking and market research.
  • Administer payroll and other employee benefits programs.
  • Insurance review of each employee group.
  • Employee Relations.
  • Develop and maintain positive employee relations, fostering a culture of trust and respect.
  • Nurture a positive, diverse, inclusive, and engaging work culture that aligns with the company\'s values.
  • Implement employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and activities to enhance morale and team cohesion.
  • Handle employee grievances and disciplinary issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations.
  • Create a structured feedback loop between employees and HR.
  • HR Operations.
  • Oversee the work of the HR administrative team, ensuring efficient and accurate execution of all HR tasks.
  • Review and confirm all payrolls are accurate.
  • Implement and maintain HR information systems.
  • Develop and enforce HR policies and procedures.
  • Additional Duties.
  • Represent the company at external meetings and conferences.
  • Stay up-to-date on HR trends and best practices.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Travel periodically to visit other company locations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field; Master\'s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a senior HR leadership role, with experience managing HR functions for multiple companies a strong plus.
  • Strong relationships with the Labour and Immigration Department are a substantial bonus.
  • Proven track record of success in implementing HR strategies and programs.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Able to conduct in-house orientation and training seminars.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in HR software and technology.
