  • Lead and support the delivery of Shariah audits and other audits in the annual audit plan.
  • Ensure that assigned audit work is executed in an efficient and effective manner, clearly documented, within the given budget and timeline, and in line with Internal Audit methodology standards.
  • Provide independent assurance through audit activities that the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s framework of risk management, control, and governance processes, as designed is adequate and in compliance with regulatory and Shariah requirements.
  • Clearly communicating issues and associated risks to senior stakeholders and colleagues. Building trust and credibility with all key parties including Shariah Committee and Shariah Team.
  • Enhance competency of the Shariah Audit function by staying abreast with latest developments as well as identifying training/development needs and address them accordingly.
  • Attend/participate in audit tollgates/governance meetings, where required to represent the Global Internal Audit function.
  • Assist Global Internal Audit teams by providing local knowledge, expertise and execution support.
  • Ensure that all audit issue action plans agreed during audit fieldwork are tracked through to completion and validated in accordance with methodology requirements.
Requirements
  • A recognized degree or professional qualification in Shariah, Islamic Banking or Shariah Audit is essential.
  • Preferably 5-8 years of related working experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and lateral thinking skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Islamic Banking operations, Shariah compliance, general banking risks, processes, and controls.
  • Excellent planning and organizing skills with strong follow through abilities.
  • Strong in both written and verbal communication.
  • A high degree of integrity and professionalism.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently; and
  • Progressive and able to handle complex business operating environment in terms of changes in regulatory requirements, market trends and practices etc.
