Job Description

TE Connectivity's R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.




Responsibilities




Assist/Support Engineers to ensure designs implement proper technologies while meeting manufacturing, cost, and timing goals. Work directly with internal teams to identify requirements, establish design expectations, and meet agreed upon design, performance, and goals for projects. Assist Mechanical engineers in maintaining project timelines to ensure all key deliverables are met. Coordinate activities to accomplish prototype and pilot production runs to mature the design of components and assemblies and meet customer needs for finished material. Perform risk assessment tests and use results to improve design and reduce risks before reaching manufacturing. Perform qualification tests & write technical reports on significant findings. Work with departments in obtaining samples and test data and provide with information to prepare datasheet/ customer drawing.

Requirements




Personal computer skills such as MICROSOFT OFFICE and relational database. Experienced Solidworks/ Creo user preferred. Mechanic Simulation experience a plus Good communication skills (verbal & written) Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups Ability to work toward defined objectives with necessary supervision Demonstrated understanding of new product development processes and workflow Good knowledge of a particular technical area within the job responsibility

Education & Experience Request




Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
