Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Data Governance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining data governance policies, standards, and procedures, and will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and security of our data.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and maintain data quality standards and controls.
• Define and manage metadata and data lineage in tools like Microsoft Purview to ensure a comprehensive understanding of data and its usage.
• Monitor data quality metrics and identify areas for improvement.
• Create and maintain data cataloging in Microsoft Purview, including data definitions, business terms, data mappings, and data lineage.
• Work with data owners and stewards to define and manage data ownership and access control policies.
• Develop and deliver training and education programs to promote data governance best practices across the organization.

Requirements:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in data governance, with at least 1 year of experience in Microsoft Purview or other tools.
• In-depth knowledge of data governance concepts, practices, and tools.
• Experience with metadata management, data lineage, and data cataloging in Microsoft Purview.
• Familiarity with data quality assessment frameworks and data quality tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred qualifications:

• Must have

• Experience with Data Governance Solutions.
• Thorough understanding of data modeling, data integration and data warehousing
• Nice to have

• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements, such as GDPR, CCPA, or HIPAA.
• Experience with data management frameworks, such as DAMA DMBoK or CMMI-Data Management.
