Job Description

Responsibilities:

Assist in the maintenance, enhancement, and support of legacy enterprise applications across HP-UX and Windows server environments.

Develop and troubleshoot scripts using Unix Shell scripting for automation and system tasks.

Support database operations and write simple queries using Oracle Pro*C, Oracle Database 8/9, and Microsoft SQL Server 7.0.

Assist in maintaining and updating applications built in Microsoft Visual FoxPro, Gupta SQLWindows, and Clipper.

Provide first-line support and bug fixes for existing applications.

Participate in deployments, testing, and documentation of changes to legacy systems.

Collaborate with senior developers and system administrators to ensure smooth application operations.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum 2 years in application development or support roles.

Technical Skills:

o HP-UX Server B11.31 and Unix Shell Scripting.

o Microsoft Windows Server NT 4.0/2000 SP4/2003.

o Microsoft Visual FoxPro 6.0/7.0 and Microsoft Access 2000.

o Gupta SQLWindows 5.0 and Clipper.

o Oracle Pro*C and Oracle Database 8/9.

o Microsoft SQL Server 7.0.

o OpenSSH for secure file transfers.

Basic understanding of application deployment and version control practices.

Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Exposure to legacy system modernization or migration projects.

Knowledge of scripting or programming best practices in mixed-platform environments.

Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to older systems quickly.

Willingness to work in a support/maintenance role with occasional off-hour tasks if required.

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM1,690.17 - RM6,846.26 per month
