To manage and maintain servers, storages and databases to ensure their optimal performance and availability as part of day to day operation.
To perform various system administration, and support tasks; including performing testing, documentation, maintenance, supports, patching and firmware upgrade, troubleshooting and, problem analyst and resolution of hardware, operating systems, software applications, and peripheral systems based on the relevant procedural requirements. These supports might be required to be rendered at any time (24X7) and be onsite when called upon.
Ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks and if there is any failed backup, remediation shall be action to prevent reoccurrence
To perform various database administration, and support tasks; including performing testing, documentation, maintenance, supports, patching and firmware upgrade, troubleshooting and, problem analyst .These supports might be required to be rendered at any time (24X7) and be onsite when called upon.
Apply application related changes when required after the application change request process requirement has been completely fulfilled including approval.
Perform the system recovery as per required Recovery Time Objective(RTO) and Recovery Point Objective(RPO) based on the approved BCP and DRP in the event of actual disaster or for the purpose of mandatory bi-annual testing
Take full ownership of task assigned by taking responsibilities of the entire
process activities to complete the task to achieve the required objective by
performing but not limited to requirement identification, solution recommendation,
planning of solution implementation, documentation, communication and
coordination, progress tracking and reporting, and implementation.
Ensure incident and problem resolution are performed in accordance with the approved relevant processes and procedures and addressed as per Service Catalogue requirement.
To ensure full compliance with IT Security Policies and Standards, Standard
Operating Procedures and regulatory guidelines.
Develop new SOP and/or operation manuals as and when required.
Maintain and regularly update the system user manual and SOPs
Experiences:
Experienced in IBM, HP, and Dell server system administration and support
Experienced in SAN and NAS system administration and support
Experienced in enterprise backup system administration (Veeam, Netvault & Avamar) and support
Experienced in Windows server OS, AIX, Linux and server virtualization software system administration (VMWare) and support
Experienced in hardware, firmware, and OS upgrade/refresh/migration
Experienced in System, Network & Security component hardening
Experienced in System performance and alarm monitoring, Backup and restore processes, change and patch update support, data backup and batch jobs processing, data centre housekeeping, software and backup media management, 1st & 2nd level problem troubleshooting and resolution, incident escalation and notification, and report printing
Experienced in Lotus Domino Email, Active Directory/LDAP, DNS/DHCP, NTP, and domain name.
Experienced in facilitating and supporting BCP/DR activities
Experienced in System, Network, and Data Centre Facilities Management system setup
Experienced in using Helpdesk system and IT tools for troubleshooting and problem solving
Experienced in databases, i.e. MS SQL, Oracle and DB2 operation
Education:
Minimum university degree qualification on IT discipline or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years experiences in technical role of any IT infrastructure discipline
