Job Description

The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the hotel's entire IT infrastructure to ensure smooth, secure, and uninterrupted operations in line with hospitality standards. This role supports all hotel systems including PMS, POS, network, security systems, and end-user support, while ensuring compliance with brand standards, data security, and business continuity.

The IT Manager works closely with hotel operations, corporate IT (if applicable), vendors, and service providers to deliver reliable technology solutions that enhance guest experience and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities



Manage and maintain all hotel IT systems including PMS, POS, back-office systems, email, Wi-Fi, access control, and telephony. Ensure 24/7 system availability to support hotel operations. Oversee cybersecurity, data protection, backups, disaster recovery, and compliance with hotel brand or regulatory requirements. Lead IT projects such as system upgrades, new system implementations, and hotel renovations. Manage IT vendors, contracts, licensing, and service level agreements. Provide technical support and guidance to all departments. Prepare and manage the IT budget, including cost control and asset management. Train associates on IT systems and best practices. Ensure compliance with internal policies, brand standards, and audit requirements. Support pre-opening activities if required (system setup, vendor coordination, testing).

Job Requirements



Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum 5-8 years of IT experience, preferably within hospitality or luxury hotel environments. Strong knowledge of hotel systems such as PMS (e.g. Opera), POS, guest Wi-Fi solutions, and interfaces. Hands-on experience with network infrastructure, servers, cybersecurity, and system integrations. Proven experience managing vendors and IT projects. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and handle urgent operational issues. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Willingness to be on-call as required to support hotel operations.

Pay: From RM120,000.00 per year
