Japanese Commis 1/2/3 assisting Head Chef and Chef De Partie (CDP) in the kitchen operation and ensures high standard of food hygiene, and adhere to the rules of health and safety. Main Responsibilities:
Follow the guidance of the Head Chef/CDP for the delivery of quality Japanese food at a consistent level.
Understanding and awareness of ingredients used for menu items and their method of preparations and presentation standard.
Handling a wide range of raw fish and another ingredient, managing food stock and working with an attention to detail to fulfil all orders within quality standard.
Preparing meal ingredients, which includes seasoning of different meats as well as washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits.
Ensures that mise-en-place is completed prior to service.
Preparing basic items and sauces as directed by the Head Chef/CDP.
Plating and presenting meal items as per the Head Chef/CDP instructions.
Prepare traditional Japanese dishes like Tempura, Yaki, Nigata, Soba and Udon.
Prepare appetizers, soups and salads that are close to the philosophy of Japanese cuisine.
Manage food preparation activities like boiling rice.
Receiving deliveries and verifying that all ordered items have been delivered and are of good quality.
Taking inventory of restaurant supplies and notifying the supervisor of low or depleted supplies.
Discarding all expired and spoiled food items stored in the stock rooms, refrigerators, and freezers.
Maintaining a clean work environment in order to prevent food contamination.
Reporting any problems with kitchen equipment to Head Chef.

Minimum SKM Culinary certification;
Applicants with experience working in Japanese Restaurant will be an added advantage;
Has experience cooking traditional Japanese dishes like Tempura, Yaki, Nigata, Soba and Udon
Has experience preparing appetizers, soups and salads that are close to the philosophy of Japanese cuisine.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and ability to multitask without sacrificing accuracy in work;
Team player who is highly independent self-motivated results-oriented and innovative;
