Job Description
Junior Backup Administrator
Key Responsibilities:
Administer backup and restoration using
TSM, NetBackup, Networker, Data Protector, Backup Exec, VEEAM Backup, and Data Domain
applications Monitor scheduled backup jobs and troubleshoot issues onserver and client sides
Work with Backup and Restoration teams and relevant parties to resolve issues on platforms likeOracle, SQL Server, Windows, VMware, and UNIX servers
Make recommendations for improvements and/or new systems to meet business needs and future capacity Install, maintain, update, and administer backup applications (TSM, NetBackup, Backup Exec, VEEAM Backup
) Create and update documentation, includingdaily and weekly backup reports
CreateIncident and Change request tickets
via ITSM (e.g., Remedy) Respond to email alerts and assigned ITSM tickets, providing timely status updates Provide24x7 rotating on-call support
Perform system activities during off-peak hours (patching, upgrades, server shutdowns) Review and update businessSLA documents
Participate in annualDisaster Recovery drills
for Backup and Restoration TeamQualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in
Computer Science
or related discipline 1 years of relevant experience in Backup and Storage technologies ITIL Foundation or higher is a plus Self-motivated, quick learner, and able to work under pressure Good written and verbal communication skills inEnglish
;Mandarin/Cantonese
is a plus Knowledge ofStorage technologies
is advantageous Willingness to worknight shifts and public holidays
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
Experience:
Oracle, SQL Server, Windows, VMware, and UNIX servers: 1 year (Preferred) ITIL Foundation or higher: 1 year (Preferred) Storage technologies: 1 year (Preferred) TSM, Netbackup, Networker, Data Protector, : 1 year (Preferred) Backup Exec, VEAAM Backup: 2 years (Preferred) Backup Admin: 1 year (Required)
