Title: Backup Administrator

Location: Bangsar South, KL

MUST: Mandarin and Cantonese

Salary: RM 3,000 - RM 4,500

Administer backup and restoration operations using tools such as TSM, NetBackup, Networker, Data Protector, Backup Exec, Veeam Backup, and Data Domain. Monitor scheduled backup jobs, troubleshoot failures on both server and client sides, and take corrective actions for missed jobs. Collaborate with the Backup & Restoration Team and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues across platforms: Oracle, SQL Server, Windows, VMware, and UNIX. Recommend improvements or new backup systems to meet business needs and projected capacity. Install, maintain, and upgrade backup applications including TSM, NetBackup, Backup Exec, and Veeam. Maintain and update operational documentation, including daily/weekly backup reports. Manage incidents and change requests using ITSM Remedy. Respond promptly to alerts and tickets, providing timely status updates. Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis. Perform system maintenance during off-peak hours (e.g., patching, upgrades, shutdowns). Review and update SLA documentation regularly. Participate in annual Disaster Recovery (DR) drills and execute assigned backup tasks.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. ITIL Foundation certification or higher (preferred). Minimum 2 years of experience in Backup and Storage technologies. Proactive, quick learner, and able to work under pressure. Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese is a plus. Knowledge of storage technologies is a plus. Willingness to work night shifts and on public holidays.
