Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented

Junior MS-SQL Database Administrator

to join an international infrastructure team based in Kuala Lumpur. The role primarily involves supporting

MS-SQL databases

hosted on

Google Cloud

,

Azure Cloud

, and

on-premise

environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in

database administration

performance tuning

,

monitoring

, and

SQL programming

, with an eagerness to learn and grow within a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide

database administration support

for

MS-SQL databases

across cloud (Google/Azure) and on-premise environments. Perform

database maintenance, housekeeping, and troubleshooting

to ensure system reliability and stability. Identify and resolve

database performance issues

, including query optimization, indexing, and configuration tuning. Manage

incident, problem, and change requests

related to database operations in collaboration with other IT teams. Support

capacity planning

,

system performance analysis

, and

resource utilization monitoring

. Develop and maintain

documentation

for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Handle

database installations, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management

. Implement and manage

backup, recovery

, and

disaster recovery strategies

to ensure data protection. Write and optimize

SQL/PLSQL scripts

and batch processes. Provide

technical support

to application developers on data flow, reliability, and standards. Participate in a

24/7 on-call rotation

for critical incident response. Implement and maintain

high availability (HA)

and

disaster recovery (DR)

solutions for MS-SQL. Ensure

compliance with data protection and security regulations

.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in

Computer Science

,

Information Technology

, or a related field.

At least 5 years of professional experience

in

MS-SQL database administration

. Proven experience with

Google Cloud

or

Azure Cloud

database environments. Proficiency in

MS-SQL administration

, including backup/recovery, monitoring, and patch management. Strong

problem-solving

and

troubleshooting

abilities. Experience in

performance tuning

,

index optimization

, and

query analysis

. Familiarity with

MS-SQL high availability solutions

. Knowledge of

database security

,

key rotation

, and

encryption practices

. Proficient in

SQL scripting

and

batch programming

. Experience raising and managing

support requests with vendors

.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of
