Junior Pastry Chef to support the pastry team in preparing, decorating, and presenting high-quality desserts and baked goods. This role involves assisting with daily production, maintaining hygiene standards, and contributing to the smooth operation of the pastry section under the guidance of senior chefs.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and baking of pastries, cakes, breads, and desserts according to recipes and standards.
Support the Pastry Chef in daily kitchen operations, including mise en place and inventory checks.
Decorate and plate desserts with attention to detail and creativity.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section in compliance with food safety standards.
Monitor stock levels and report shortages or spoilage.
Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients and finished products.
Support plating and presentation of dishes during service.
Participate in menu development and seasonal offerings.
Uphold kitchen hygiene, safety, and sanitation protocols at all times.
Requirements
Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts, Baking, or Pastry (or equivalent experience).
2-3 years of experience in a pastry or bakery environment preferred.
Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
Strong attention to detail, creativity, and willingness to learn.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
