Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated

Junior Software Tester

with

1+ years of experience

, preferably in the

banking or financial domain

. The candidate should be familiar with the fundamentals of software testing, test case execution, and defect management. Prior hands-on experience using

Jira

for bug tracking and test management is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Understand functional requirements and contribute to test case creation. Execute manual test cases for web-based and backend banking applications. Report and track bugs using

Jira

. Participate in

System Integration Testing (SIT)

and

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

cycles. Work closely with business analysts, developers, and senior testers. Ensure adherence to project timelines and testing best practices. Prepare and maintain test documentation and daily status reports. Assist in test data preparation and environment readiness checks. Support regression testing during release cycles.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

1+ years of hands-on testing experience

, preferably in the

banking or financial services industry

. Good understanding of

software development lifecycle (SDLC)

and

software testing lifecycle (STLC)

. Experience with

Jira

for defect tracking and collaboration. Basic knowledge of

SQL

to verify data in backend systems. Exposure to various types of testing: functional, regression, integration, and UAT. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Able to work effectively in a team and independently when needed.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

Familiarity with

test management tools

like TestRail, Zephyr, or HP ALM. Exposure to

automation tools

(e.g., Selenium) is a plus. Understanding of

API testing

using tools like Postman is an advantage. ISTQB Foundation Level Certification or equivalent is a plus.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
