JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Title: Manager - MiddleWare

Job Purpose:

To provides system support for all Middle Ware based software by implementing, monitoring and maintaining systems and application software running under middle ware.
To assist Manager for planning and coordinate enterprise-wide IT infrastructure projects. Also assist Manager on developing technical standards and documentation.
To work with software/hardware vendors to provide optimum system performance and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

Must have excellent interpersonal and technical skills. They must troubleshoot problems accurately, have grace under pressure and possess a patient attitude to deal with a variety of situations and personalities. The ability to work irregular hours, listen attentively, speak calmly and document user problems comprehensively are critical traits.

Strategy and Planning:

Provide advice and guidance to management form technical point of view.
Evaluate and recommend technology controls, mitigation techniques and resilience solutions for the Bank.
Establish a good and effective cross department working relationships with key reporting areas and build strong working relationships with external consultants, vendors, regulators and business user.
Any other responsibilities / task as assigned by management from time to time
Perform on technical responsibility as below: - Installation and configuration of Middleware application within timeframe given. Perform hardening based on hardening checklist - Conduct Troubleshooting: Work with the other team to resolve application problems/issue. - Perform Migrations/Deployment: Migrate/Deploy code between test QA and production environments due to changes request. - Maximize High Availability: High-availability design, configuration, and maintenance, including clustering and load balancing Middleware application related - Create/maintain best practice Middleware application configuration - Perform and coordinate Middleware application patching based on patch release by principal (endorse by security team) within timeframe given - Monitors systems capacity and performance as needed and do regular maintenance as per guideline given - Create project documentation and best practice for Middleware application when require by project - Develop Best Practices: Gathers all supported Middleware application best practices and standards for tested implementation and align with organization policy and procedure.

People Management:

Manage the development and implementation of Platform improvement plans and projects.
Implementation of Platform improvement plans and projects.
Perform daily operations of the Middleware team and assure the delivery of operational outputs.

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensures all operations/project are in compliance with Group, local and regional regulations
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements (eg. MAS, SGX, etc. ) and external auditors.

Job Specification:

Qualifications (Basic Degree/Diploma etc.):

A recognized diploma/degreed in Information Systems or its equivalent.

Relevant Work Experience:

Minimum 3 years of experience in Middleware applications and support role experience
Thoroughly familiar with troubleshooting problems related to Standard Software Application and Operating System

Required Competencies and Skills:

Technical/Functional skills:

Strong technical management, problem management and leadership skills.
Highly result oriented and can work independently.
Ability to build relationships and interact effectively with internal and external parties.
Good analytical, technical, written and communication skills.
Have experience with UNIX Operating System or Windows
Knowledge of 2 out of 5 below: a) Oracle Product: WebLogic, Application Server and its related component. b) IBM WebSphere c) RHEL JBoss d) IBM MQ e) This included front end application such as Apache and Tomcat Experience using Java, J2EE, XML, SQL and Shell/Perl Scripting in a UNIX environment.

Good understanding of best practices and technology solutions.
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to address technical issues in both technical and non-technical terms.
