Job Description

To support the effective delivery of science lessons by preparing and maintaining laboratory materials, equipment, and resources. The Laboratory Assistant ensures a safe and efficient learning environment for students and staff in accordance with school and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Laboratory Preparation and Support

Prepare apparatus, materials, and chemical solutions for practical science lessons. Set up and clear away equipment before and after experiments. Assist teachers and students during practical sessions when required.

2. Equipment and Inventory Management

Maintain accurate inventory of science equipment, chemicals, and materials. Conduct regular checks to ensure equipment is functional and safe. Report and arrange repairs or replacements for damaged or faulty equipment.

3. Health, Safety, and Compliance

Ensure that all experiments and laboratory activities comply with health and safety regulations. Maintain proper storage, labeling, and disposal of chemicals and biological materials. Keep Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) up to date and accessible. Support the implementation of risk assessments for practical work.

4. Administrative and Technical Support

Assist in organizing science exhibitions, fairs, and special projects. Support the documentation of experiments, inventories, and safety checks. Liaise with suppliers for laboratory orders and replenishments.

5. General Duties

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in all laboratory areas. Support teachers and students with technical queries related to lab work. Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Science or School Management.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
