Job Description

The primary purpose of the Technician role is to conduct laboratory experimental work that plays a pivotal role in the formulation of new and enhanced products. Working closely with your assigned supervisor, you will contribute to the advancement of our product development efforts. Execute experiments as directed, organizing tasks effectively to complete assigned experiments, and documenting experimental outcomes in a clear and concise manner. You will help detect anomalies in experimental parameters or results and proposing appropriate actions. Furthermore, you will help maintain the laboratory\'s functionality and ensure the availability of essential supplies and equipment. You will report to the Sr Technical Manager and will work on-site at Petaling Jaya. Main Responsibilities Organize, accurately carry out and report results from lab experiments following instruction from supervisors. Ensure all experimental work is fully recorded in appropriate lab notebooks, databases and where necessary, project reports. Work safely, following all lab procedures and contribute to the maintenance of high safety standards. Contribute ideas for lab work involving new product development, existing product improvement and formula cost reduction. Qualifications School leaver with \'A\'-level, diploma or equivalent qualification. 1-3 years\' work experience in a technical role at a relevant company within the chemical or coatings industry. Basic knowledge of paint making, application and testing techniques. Comprehends paint manufacturing and production processes. Working knowledge of all laboratory & EHS processes and procedures. Use of key Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) See separate detailed skills matrix of other requirements Proactive initiative, exceptional teamwork, and an unwavering drive for achieving outstanding results. Willingness to work overtime during busy periods. Good eyesight with the ability to perceive slight colour differences (not colour blind).
