Detailed Description:

GOAL: The MPS global lead is responsible for managing and executing the industry leading MPS program across Celestica\'s global operations network.
The successful candidate will be responsibe for managing the technical content in the MPS, creating and delivering training, managing the MPS audit and scorecard process, responding to technical questions from Celestica sites, gathering examples of best practices, working with strategic suppliers to leverage their knowledge on manufacturing processes/equipment and applications, understanding and participating in industry consortia projects, and working with the technology development teams at Celestica to capture new knowledge/best known method.

  • MPS Content (Creation and updates) 40%
  • MPS Training (Improvement and delivery at CLS sites) 15%
  • MPS Program Coordinaiton (Site scorecard process, roadmapping) 15%
  • Special Projects & Site technical support (Operations Central etc..) 15%
Additional Objectives
  • Participate with other senior assembly technology experts from around the world in shaping 5%
Celestica\'s overall Assembly Strategy and investments world wide. * Assist with emergency issues as they arise within Celestica\'s global operations network and/or 5%

with Celestica\'s customers. * Promote Celestica\'s engineering leadership through industry consortia, technical papers/publications

Education
  • Educated to degree level in an appropriate electronics/engineering discipline.
Experience:
  • Required: (Band 9)
  • 5 years+ experience within a manufacturing engineering operational role and /or process application engineering development role
  • Experience and proven abilities in
- project management
- leading employees in several different countries and time zones
- working with suppliers
- working with customers
- driving continuous improvement and best practices
- the supervision of engineers / engineering team(s) * Background in one of the following disciplines within an electronics producing company: Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, or similar.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding in the following technical areas:
  • printed circuit board assembly processes (SMT, wave etc...), chemistries (Pb and Pb-free) and equipment.
  • mechanical assembly processes (fasteners, adhesives, plastics, press-fit, bearings, belts etc...)
  • system assembly processes
  • DFM rules and principles
  • industry and quality standards including those for pb and pb-free chemistries and workmanship
  • core IT platforms (Matrix, Aspect, SAP, MS Excel)
  • materials and components used in the construction of printed circuit boards and printed circuit assemblies
  • design, construction, and delivery of equipment into the Electronics Manufacturing sector.
  • The requirements of factories servicing different of operating models (consumer, high mix low volume, medium mix medium volume)
  • statistical techniques and design of experiments; Ideally 6-sigma Green Belt of Black Belt certified
  • Basic familiarity with:
  • laboratory failure analysis techniques
  • structural test techniques (ICT, AXI, AOI, API)
  • Understanding of adult education principles, communication techniques and training course design.
  • Outstanding English skills (spoken and written).
Experience with another language would be an asset (Spanish, Malay, Mandarin, Thai, and Japanese). * Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including senior leaders

  • Demonstrated ability to be resourceful, leverage experts, and go beyond barriers to solve technical challenges.
  • Knowledge of publishing tools and methods (MS PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Writer/Editor).
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision / guidance on complex technical issues and/or in diversified teams.
  • Ability to make use of shared people resources and influence them to support your projects.
  • Willing to perform some travel.
