About the job Lead Mechanical Engineer
The Lead Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for leading the mechanical engineering scope of work across all project phases, ensuring design integrity, safety, and compliance with client and regulatory requirements. The role includes overseeing mechanical design, reviewing engineering deliverables, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and providing technical leadership to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering.
- Registered Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
- Minimum 11 years of experience in upstream oil and gas projects, including at least 6 years as a Lead Engineer in the relevant field.
- Strong expertise in mechanical systems, rotating and static equipment, and piping design.
- Proficient in reviewing and approving mechanical drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Familiar with international standards and codes (ASME, API, ISO).
- Excellent leadership and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to provide technical guidance, mentoring, and quality assurance on all mechanical engineering deliverables.
