One of the leading international financial institutions is seeking a high-calibre Legal Counsel (ECM/DCM/Derivatives) with experience in either equity or debt capital markets and derivatives to join the investment banking legal team based in Kuala Lumpur.

About the Legal Counsel (ECM/DCM/Derivatives) Role:
Reporting to the Head, Legal, you will be responsible in providing world-class functional banking legal services to the bank\'s legal and corporate functions as well as be involved in interactions with all levels of management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Render sound, effective and practical legal solutions, and advice to stakeholders
• Draft, review and negotiate documents and agreements independently/with minimal supervision
• Provide legal support in the development of new products and offerings within Malaysia and other jurisdictions where the bank is present
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel
• Identify issues and legal risks and provide proactive solutions
• Keep abreast of legislative and regulatory changes affecting the bank\'s operations

This successful candidate must be highly organised and independent, able to manage diverse stakeholders and work under pressure in a dynamic environment and with at least 5 - 10 years of PQE.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 - 10 years PQE with experience in banking and finance regulations
• Equity/debt capital markets and equity derivatives exposure will be viewed favourably
• Experience with ISDA documentation is an added advantage
• Experience in corporate laws and drafting and negotiation of agreements and contracts
