Legal Counsel Manager Remuneration : RM 13,000 - RM 16,000 Duration : 12-Months contract with PERSOLKELLY Principal Accountabilities Legal Counsel other business functions in the Company in all legal matters, to ensure compliance with legislation and provide comprehensive risk assessment when interpreting ambiguous legislation. Monitor industry relevant regulatory and litigation developments, provides timely impact analysis into the business and regulatory planning processes, anticipate potential threats to the business Draft and counsel on business related agreements delivers effective and easy-to-use contract templates for the Companyto ensure that COMPANY Group\'s interests are adequately protected and in accordance with the COMPANY standards and policy. Provide transactional (contract negotiation and documentation) counsel to internal stakeholders. Examples of theagreements include: Sale and Purchase agreements (Goods/Services/Property) Agency agreements Retailer agreements Entertainment outlet agreements Laboratory Services agreement Confidentiality agreements Contract manufacturing agreements Licensing agreements Service level agreements Transportation agreements Trade Mark Licensing agreements Warehousing agreements Employment contracts Tenancy Royalty agreements Toll Manufacturing agreements Contract manufacturing agreements Litigation/ dispute resolution management Manage the litigation activities and dispute resolution matters of the business, including coordinating and liaising with cross functional employees and external counsels, tracking the progress of cases and matters and providing management with regular updates. Business Security Effectively assists in the compliance of the Company\'s Standards of Business Conduct and business security policies, including the handling of internal investigations thereto. Conduct reviews of security guidelines, practices and procedures, required to protect company personnel and assets. Produce timely, accurate, comprehensive and concise reports following security reviews, investigations and other tasks and provide effective recommendations. Conduct reviews of security related issues concerning company, and contractor operations, producing reports and recommendations for action when necessary. Demand high quality of experience in evaluating risk associated with the company\'s operation in the protection of its assets and ensuring the safety of its personnel. Management Assist the Legal team in ensuring all employees understand legal and security requirements and standards of COMPANY Group. Assist to manage the service levels for the provision of high quality legal service from external counsels. Participate in cross functional projects and initiatives to assess, monitor and anticipate potential threats to the business such as competitors\' activities, systems/structures failuresetc.to support the achievement of business objectives. Leadership Act as an advocate of COMPANY Standards of Business Conduct and Security policies internally and externally. Take the lead in providing legal counsel to the other functions in the Company to enable them to make responsible and compliant decisions. Demonstrate that all the legal work is done fully in accordance with the Legal Guiding Principles of British American Tobacco: work from a business perspective seek to provide creative solutions to business problems share your sense of urgency at all times take calculated risks operate in accordance with the highest professional standards communicate openly and often Relationship Integrate into and maintain key internal relationships across the functions - develop an effective network across all functions to ensure a proper review of company\'s activities leading to a full compliance of company\'s activities with laws and regulations to contribute toward achieving company\'s objectives. Build effective relationships with external stakeholders, such as regulators and enforcement authorities to strive for mutually satisfactory solutions. Manage relationships with external legal counsel and seek opportunities to leverage on synergy for effective counselling on regulation Able to work as one team in the LEX function and build on a multi-skilled understanding of the business. Innovation Continuously seek new ways for gaining, sharing and processing information across the functions Develop innovative processes for the approval of marketing materials to enable smooth and easy operation of legal integration Monitor and follow up new ways to improve effectiveness of regulatory management process - integrating regulatory issues, seeking synergies and building alliances Proactively support and implement the key strategic, area and regional initiatives. Job Qualification: Possessa recognised law degree with at least 5 years\' of legal practice experience in the commercial and litigation area. Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia. Possess strong writing, drafting, interpersonal and communication skills. Able to handle matters on an independent basisand work under pressure. Good commercialand business sense, with the ability to bring expert advice and problem solving skills to the business functions. A teamplayer who is able to work withpeers and senior management with strong influencing and problem solving skills, inspiring trust and confidence Proactive, organised, resourceful and cost conscious.
