Who are we looking for?

Licensing-In Manager has the role of securing technologies including know how and/or patents from third parties in support of our Org, its affiliates and JVs growth,
sustainability, reliability and any other business needs. This is through negotiations with global technology providers (Licensors) in order to establish and execute technology
based License/Engineering-PDP/service/study agreements and NDAs with optimum terms and conditions for our Org, its affiliates and JVs. This happens in alignment with
different stakeholders, mainly, Business Units, Business T&I, Engineering & Project Management, Procurement, and Legal department. Licensing-In manager Lead the
interface between our Org and external Licensors in accordance to respective internal workflow of securing technology transfers though several tools such as SOIs, NDAs,
RFPs, LA/EAs, and other agreements

Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering field is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing/technologies is preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in licensing technologies is preferred.
  • Possess high assertiveness/negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Leading mega and site projects and its Licensing-In workflow with key stakeholders internally and externally throughout its different stages until agreement.
    execution and handover. Lead the technology screening and alignment with different stakeholders in Licensing-In and other functions as appropriate. Lead RFP
    preparation activities and alignments with the relevant stakeholders. Conduct the contractual and commercial evaluation process of Technology licensors.
    Negotiate and deliver best terms and conditions for our Org benefit. Generating agreement summaries for the review and approval of Licensing-In leadership
  • Supporting Sr. Licensing Manager in complex mega projects throughout its different stages until agreement execution and handover.
  • Leading complex/sensitive technical studies and services. Lead the internal alignment regarding project sensitivity/complexity matrix. Review the received
    request and verify the need for the technical service/study. Ensure the clarity and coherence of the scope and required deliverables generated by the
    requester prior to release to Licensor. Coordinating the requirements of the project and subsequent technical evaluation while leading the commercial
    evaluation as well as negotiations.
  • Coaching Licensing Sr. Engineers in mega projects, site projects and services as well as NDA activities. Tailoring per licensing-in engineer competency level for
    each of the following: negotiation skills and typical fallback positions, agreement drafting and deviations tracking, methods of reporting deviations to
    management, understanding of various terms and conditions criticality, approving stakeholders per deviation, commercial and contractual evaluation
    methodology, engaging at different licensors structures.
  • Support enforcing and developing Licensing-In workflow, record keeping, IP protection, procedures and processes (e.g. ECM, AMS, Licensing-In Procedure, and
    Firewall). Ensuring appropriate approvals secured through AMS or any other systems as per MAS of all relevant parties. Support governing the Licensing-in
    workflow from request initiation until signing the LA. Support in appropriate archiving and references in the ECM and other reference systems this is to include
    NDAs, LA/EAs, Service and Study agreements, critical communications and proposals that Licensing-In is responsible for as per the workflow. Support
    appropriate contamination protection tools during Licensing-In workflow for the protection of our Org IP and key personal/technologies.
  • Supporting engagements with internal functions as a focal point (e.g. Audit, EPM, BU, B-T&I, Procurement). Support the required clarifications and inputs
    needed from the Audit and review functions internally and externally. Support the coordination with E&PM with all relevant intervals between the functions
    as it relates to engineering deliverables. Support in setting the expectations of the BU in terms of project timeline and costs as appropriate. Support B-T&I in
    the technology screening activities as to ensure its compliance with the overall technology selection process. Support in the engagements with Procurement
    regarding exclusions of FEED/EPC contractors, catalyst/proprietary equipment term sheets.

Furthermore, your English level will be evaluated at this stage, ONLY native or advanced speakers will approve this evaluation. If this preliminary phone/video interview is successful, your resume will be submitted to our client. If your preliminary phone/video interview is not successful, our Talent Acquisition consultant will inform you. 2.2 Client phone/video interview: This interview will happen only if your resume is approved by our client, we cannot guarantee the time our client will take to approve your resume, but it should take less than a week. If your resume is approved a member of the Talent Acquisition Team from our client will schedule a call with you to evaluate your qualifications. The client interview contains technical questions that help assess your familiarity with problem-solving in your given field and may include a behavioral evaluation. Be prepared to explain how you approach problems and produce solutions. If your phone interview is successful, the hiring team will further evaluate your resume, and they will invite you to a video interview when hiring managers are available. If your resume is not approved, LHR Americas will inform you. 2.3 Video interviews with hiring managers: which may also contain technical questions that help us assess your familiarity with problem-solving in your given field. 3. Conditional Offer A successful interview may result in a conditional offer of employment. Conditions for employment include but are not limited to medical examinations, and permission to secure a visa to work and reside in-country.
