Tasks are very complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations. Decisions/actions may have an impact on the departments goals and may go beyond the department. Works under minimum Supervision. Situations not covered by standard processes, procedures and methods are referred to manager or expert resource. May provide functional guidance to others performing similar work. May be considered the expert in areas assigned. Builds internal and external relationships that require exchanging information and providing some explanations in a problem solving capacity.Detailed DescriptionPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Coordinates work and assigns priorities for specific programs or groups in Materials Replenishment and Receiving.
  • Provides coordination of receiving incoming goods on timely basis.
  • Provides support to internal customers for problem resolution and material readiness.
  • Provides measurement and tracking of department performance measurements.
  • Maintains and upgrades warehouse system(s) ensuring cycle time is maintained.
  • Responsible for warehouse system support and problem resolution to ensure system availability.
  • Ensures processing of returned material on a timely basis, training/coaching of manufacturing employees on process and auditing to ensure timely handling of material.
  • Participates in production status meetings and customer conference calls as related to returned material.
  • Coordinates and authorizes contract carrier trucking schedules.
  • Coordinates the site scrap process for pickup and on site storage.
  • Monitors activities of the team against defined objectives, reports on achievements and proposes ways in which performance can be improved.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
  • Good understanding of manufacturing, warehouse and distribution processes.
  • Basic understanding of internal and external customer requirements
  • Knowledge of personal computers and ability to learn and use applications specific to this area.
  • Ability to lead a group of employees.
  • Ability to evaluate multiple tasks, non-routine situations and prioritize/organize work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to solve problems of limited scope and perform root cause analysis
Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
Typical Experience
  • Four to six years of relevant experience
Typical Education
  • Additional Courses after High School, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
