Job Summary:
We are looking for a Junior Mainframe Developer with 3-5 years of experience to join our Cards Application Development Management team. The role involves developing, enhancing, and supporting Mainframe-based applications within the banking and cards domain. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in COBOL, CICS, JCL, and working knowledge of VSAM and Sequential Datasets, along with a solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Exposure to CardLink or Vision Plus will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Mainframe-based applications using COBOL, CICS, and JCL.
Develop and support applications handling VSAM and Sequential Datasets for batch and online processing.
Participate in all phases of the SDLC, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation.
Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and operations to deliver high-quality, secure, and reliable solutions.
Provide production support and perform root cause analysis for incidents and defects.
Ensure adherence to established change management and quality assurance standards.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation for all developed components and system enhancements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and recommend optimizations for Mainframe application performance.
Required Skills and Experience
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in Mainframe application development and support.
Mandatory Skills:
o COBOL, CICS, JCL
o VSAM and Sequential Datasets
o NoSQL Database (as applicable)
o Mainframe ZOS environment
Good-to-Have Skills:
o Easytrieve
o CardLink / Vision Plus knowledge
Other Requirements:
o Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
o Prior experience in Banking projects, preferably within the Cards domain.
