With a presence in 25 countries, BGA staff provide bespoke services to clients in 28 markets across the region. We are a fast-growing company and seek a talented, highly motivated Malaysia Analyst to join our team in Kuala Lumpur.
The candidate should be motivated to help the world\xe2\x80\x99s premier companies understand Malaysia, find alignment with customers, communities and key stakeholders and to help Malaysia evolve by considering the ideas and capabilities of top tier companies who want to invest in Malaysia.
Position Responsibilities
Support a portfolio of clients with a focus on the Malaysia market:

• Research and monitor business and investment sector issues, including government policies, regulatory developments, industry developments, consumer trends and issues, and business and investment opportunities on behalf BGA and clients.
• Analyze and interpret the corporate, business, policy, and political implications of specific government regulations, policies, and laws at the national and provincial levels.
• Provide well-written, succinct, actionable reports to clients and to BGA leaders.
• Map, engage, establish and maintain professional relationships with private-sector stakeholders, civil society, members of the media and other influencers.
• Provide information and analysis on stakeholders relevant to BGA clients.
• Offer guidance and assistance in developing and implementing business, government relations, media, public affairs, and other strategies.
• Represent BGA at meetings and provide other support as requested by BGA leaders.
• Work collaboratively with BGA teams based in Asia, the Pacific and North America, on a range of projects and provide further support internally and externally to advance BGA objectives.

Job Requirements
We seek an exceptionally collegial, eager, highly motivated self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively, anticipate client and company needs, and be part of a high-performing Malaysia and global team. The ideal candidate has been involved in government affairs, public policy, or healthcare policy work and maintains a strong network of public and private sector interlocutors.
Qualifications:

• Business level English, native level Malaysian and excellent written and oral communications skills in both languages.
• Excellent research and analysis skills and knowledge of the public and private sectors. Knowledge of additional sectors, including ICT, finance, natural resources, manufacturing, telecommunications, healthcare, pharmaceutical and others, a plus.
  
• A keen understanding of Malaysia\xe2\x80\x99s political-economic environment and the ability to navigate it on behalf of clients.
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic internet applications are required, as is enthusiasm and ability to learn and adopt new technologies.
• University degree and 1-3 years relevant professional experience are required.
