Job Description

:Responsibilities

• Play a primary supportive role to the Project Manager (PM) in the planning, design, and supervision of the construction works for all WP and attend to any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the PM from time to time.
• Act as the first-tier resolution on design issues. Coordinate and interface with Head Office, Design Office, DEDC, and other consultants to resolve technical and design issues.
• Provide strategic direction on technical and design and undertake a review of road, bridge, drainage, pavement, utilities, M&E, and geotechnical design.
• Lead, drive, and manage the project coordinators and resident engineers to attain project deliverables and work quality. To ensure design-related progress meets project deadlines.
• Provide concepts for the resolution of design issues and changes and design reports. To steer the team in ensuring the drawings and reports for such matters are of quality for submission to the client.
• Ensure efficient communication and exchange of information between designers and the site team.
• Participates in technical discussions with project stakeholders on matters related to the design, amendments, and/ or alternative solutions consistent with applicable standards, codes, local by-laws, and regulations, when required.
• Conduct a review on the suitability of the adopted design concept taking into consideration site constraints, constructability, and authority requirements.
• Conduct design risk assessment and management.

Requirements

• Bachelor\'s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate (PEPC) registered under BEM (preferred).
• Preferably 15 to 20 years of working experience in major road projects with a minimum of five (5) years in design office experience.
