The Marine Operations Manager ensures the smooth, safe, and efficient running of marine transportation services, including speed boats, ferries, and dive boats. The incumbent manages crew performance, vessel maintenance, scheduling, budgeting, and overall operational productivity while upholding company service standards and regulatory compliance.
Oversee daily operational activities for speed boats, ferries, and dive boats, ensuring all services run safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Coordinate and prepare ferry and boat schedules, ensuring optimal utilization based on passenger flow and service needs.
Supervise all crew members including boat captains, deckhands, technicians, and support staff.
Plan staffing levels, duty rosters, off days, and crew deployment to ensure adequate manpower at all times.
Ensure all speed boats, ferries, and dive boats are maintained in accordance with marine safety standards and company policies.
Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, liaising with technicians, contractors, and vendors as required.
Prepare and monitor operational budgets including fuel usage, maintenance costs, manpower expenses, and general operational expenditures.
Analyze operational costing and propose cost-saving measures without compromising safety or service quality.
Handle customer-related issues, ticketing coordination, and feedback resolution to maintain a positive service reputation.
Maintain strong relationships with tourism operators, dive centers, agents, and local authorities.
Prepare operational reports including daily movement reports, incident reports, fuel consumption tracking, and maintenance logs.
Maintain updated records of vessel documents, crew certifications, and compliance-related documentation.
Lead emergency response protocols including breakdowns, weather disruptions, and safety incidents.
Job Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Marine Operations, Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of working experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial operational role, preferably in marine transportation, tourism, or logistics.
Strong experience handling boat operations, crew management, and scheduling is highly preferred.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams and shift-based manpower.
Financial literacy with experience managing budgets and operational costing.
