Position Overview: We are actively seeking two qualified and experienced Mandarin Teachers to join our dedicated faculty at Stonyhurst International School Penang. The ideal candidate should have a genuine passion for teaching Mandarin, a strong educational background, and the ability to cultivate an engaging and supportive classroom atmosphere.
Responsibilities: Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive and dynamic Mandarin language curriculum in alignment with international language standards and the school\'s educational objectives, reflecting the Mission and Core Values of Stonyhurst International School Penang. Lesson Planning: Develop creative and engaging lesson plans tailored to the diverse needs of students, fostering a positive and interactive learning experience. Classroom Management: Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, collaboration, and respect among students. Assessment and Feedback: Evaluate student performance using various assessment methods and provide constructive feedback to enhance language proficiency. Cultural Integration: Integrate cultural elements into language instruction to promote a holistic understanding of the Mandarin language and Chinese culture. Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues and actively participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and contribute to the overall improvement of the language department. Parent Communication: Establish effective communication channels with parents, keeping them informed about students\' progress, upcoming events, and the Mandarin language program.
Qualifications:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Chinese Language and Literature or equivalen, and PGCE
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in both junior and senior settings in an international school, with experience in IGCSE preferable.
• Fluency in both Mandarin and English.
• Knowledge of or willingness to acquire knowledge of inquiry-based learning is required.
• We are seeking to appoint talented, highly motivated and well-qualified individuals. You should have a proven track record of outstanding learning and teaching. A mindset which understands all students have the potential for top performance and the drive and passion to enable them to do so.
• Experience which will enable a contribution to our extensive co-curriculum programme.
• Experience in a reputable international school would be highly regarded.
• Due to Malaysian registration requirements, all teachers must be vaccinated against Covid 19.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT Salary The school will offer successful candidates a highly competitive salary package including housing allowance, end-of-service gratuity, medical insurance and airfares for the teacher, spouse and dependants along with fees remission for up to two dependent children. The post will be offered subject to satisfactory references, a medical examination and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
