Job Description


Position level : Manager Reporting to : Plant Manager Subordinates : 6 Headcount : New/ Additional (Permenant) Working mode : Station at Johor plant * Medical, Pharmaceutical, Food or any sterilize packaging manufacturing industry working experience required. * Well verse/ Familiar in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and medical system regulations (Eg. ISO 13485) Responsibilities:

  • The Engineering Manager will continuously improve the safety, quality, and efficiency of the plant\xe2\x80\x99s manufacturing processes in order to meet or exceed customer expectations and operational goals. Responsible for leadership and effective management of the Engineers\xe2\x80\x99 team to ensure priorities and performance are aligned with the company\xe2\x80\x99s strategic direction.
  • Ensure that new and existing manufacturing equipment modifications are designed to minimize safety hazards. Ensure that all manufacturing equipment is operated in the safest possible manner.
  • Ensure that manufacturing and converting processes incorporate safe work practices and limit the risk of ergonomic injury.
  • Design new systems and processes to deliver Six Sigma process capability levels. Improve existing process capability levels through thoughtful analysis and investments in new equipment and upgrades to existing processes.
  • Work closely with the Technical and Operation\xe2\x80\x99s teams to validate new manufacturing equipment, including Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ).
  • Leverage the company\xe2\x80\x99s systems and standards for procedures, work instructions, document management, and employee training.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team and the packaging processes.
  • Champion the use of best practices, advanced technologies, and data-driven decision-making to enhance engineering efficiency and product quality.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective specification, procurement and installation of new equipment and upgrades with suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Provide manufacturing insight and project deliverables to new or modified product projects and ensure timely transition into manufacturing, with consideration to robust design, cost effectiveness and process validation.
  • Drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to best-in-class levels through targeted improvement and process control efforts, including work standards, robust training, statistical process control, error-proofing, rapid changeover methods, and thoughtful scheduling.
  • Identify and deploy critical process control and monitoring methodologies.
  • Monitor and improve factory preventive maintenance procedures and results; seek and act on gaps or improvement opportunities.
  • Identify, justify, execute and report structural cost reductions to improve quality and cost performance including automation opportunities, alternate process selections and qualification, and defect reduction.
  • Ensure that customer specifications are efficiently and effectively translated into a functional work order and capable manufacturing process. Provide key engineering oversight to manufacturing change management activities through execution and reporting of accurate, thorough and insightful test plans, protocols and reports consistent with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Oversee engineering documentation and specification preparation, submission and approval to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Work cross functionally to provide the information needed to maintain accurate Engineering Masters and Quality Documentation.
  • Lead and report progress of key projects using appropriate methodologies and sound engineering approach to ensure continuous and quantum improvement.
  • Model the company values to create a culture of open communication, data-driven, decisions, relentless preparation, winning as a team, and over-delivering.
  • Communicate and share business reality with the workforce and prepare people for change. Use Key Performance Indicators to communicate goals and progress.
  • Develop team members\xe2\x80\x99 technical, and professional skills to ensure operational performance can be sustained over time.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage Engineers\xe2\x80\x99 team, including processing engineers and production technicians.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture, encouraging continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Prepare thoughtful departmental and capital budgets.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to eliminate waste and improve manufacturing capability.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, Printing Technology or closely related field.
  • More than 5 years of manufacturing, process engineering and leadership experience.
  • Deep knowledge and application of quality management tools and statistical techniques such as, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE), Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R), Process Capability, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Strong speaking and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and history of optimizing manufacturing processes.
  • Very strong mechanical and electrical skills including Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Skilled at technical writing.
  • Knowledge of plastic thermal processing and printing desirable.
  • Deep knowledge and experience in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP); knowledge of Quality System Regulations (QSRs), and ISO 13485 desirable.
  • Daily exposure to manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to travel (US and internationally).
Job Type: Permanent Salary: RM14,000.00 - RM18,000.00 per month Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday
Supplemental pay types:
  • 13th month salary
  • Performance bonus
