Support the vessel team in implementing and updating HSSE policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with international HSSE requirements for safe operations, addressing nonconformities, providing feedback on best practices, and communicating changes to the Center of Excellence while upholding the highest standards of navigation and cargo work in the fleet.
Maintain vessel safety and compliance with international maritime requirements, including reviewing safety committee meeting and SMR minutes, managing NCN/near miss reports, investigating/responding to incidents, and monitoring Port State Control and Flag State inspections to maintain nautical and environmental standards.
Conduct and review ship-shore drills, emergency, and ISPS, sharing drill reviews with the Center of Excellence, and responding to vessel emergencies while managing the Emergency Response Centre when required.
Review and manage risk assessments from vessels, implementing processes to mitigate and minimize risks.
Ensure vessels are prepared for internal and external audits, coordinate and facilitate audits with the Center of Excellence, and respond to and close out audit findings.
Coordinate and facilitate OCIMF inspections in alignment with the technical superintendent and the Center of Excellence, prepare initial responses to findings, liaise with the superintendent, and ensure timely close-out, reporting injury and incident cases to the company.
Review and advise vessels on navigational and cargo operation aspects, conduct briefings/de-briefings, mentor sea staff, and make regular visits to assigned vessels.
Ensure all aspects of vessel security align with the Security team.
Requirements:
Professional Qualifications: Maritime-related Degree or Certificate of Competency Class 1 (Master).
Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a sea-going Master or Chief Officer onboard LNG Tankers.
