Job Detail Job Reference M8880 Vacancy: Marine Surveyor (Marine Consultancy) Location: Johor Bahru, Malaysia Are you a Marine Chief Engineer or Naval Architect with a passion for marine surveying works, and would like to be part of a leading global independent marine consultancy. If your answer is a yes, then this will be just the job for you. As a Consultant Marine Surveyor, you will manage a variety of marine consultancy service, including but not limited to vessel surveys of any type, accident investigation, expert witness, litigation support, desktop consultancy projects and risk assessments. Job Responsibilities: Develop strong work relationship with P&I Clubs, H&M Surveyors, Ship Owners, Technical Managers, Charterers, Law Firms, Ports and other key stakeholders Carry out condition assessments of vessels, audit management offices, shipyards and ports as part of pre-risk assessment works Carry out casualty surveys to deter the cause, nature and extent of a collision or accident damage Prepare estimation cost for repairs and subsequent reports for Clients Prepare and submit technical reviews and marine study reports covering marine assets and cargoes Carry out expert witness opinion via written reports and/or physical attendance at court or arbitration Job Requirements: Can be based in Johor Bahru, Malaysia Degree qualified Naval Architect with relevant hands-on experience or at least 5 years of sea-sailing experience. Subject matter expert to vessel dry-docking and budgets Candidate with valid driving license will have added advantage Candidates with past experience working as a salvage master/SCR/Pilot will have added advantage Must have strong written communication ability, and excellent report writing skills in English Physical capability to work in the demanding maritime environment
