Purpose of the position The Market Access & Pricing Lead is based in the affiliate which he/she supports and reports to the GM. The role is accountable for the effective implementation of the local strategy by working collaboratively from a One Astellas perspective with the local functions in the affiliate and regional team. The key areas include localizing market access and pricing strategy, tender management, understanding and tracking local healthcare system developments and identifying new opportunities for access to Astellas\' products for patients in the local country for new pipeline and current products in Singapore and Malaysia. The Market Access & Pricing Lead will communicate the perspective of the payer internally and engages according to the relevant direct or indirect channel payers to promote product value throughout lifecycle management. Where needed the Market Access & Pricing Lead supports other regional members to represent the local reality of the Market access in that country. Responsibilities Healthcare System Knowledge Has a deep understanding of how political, economic, social, and legal contexts determine how health systems operate and are influenced. Acquires knowledge of the pricing, reimbursement, funding, and procurement mechanics of the local health care system(s) (processes, evidence needs and guiding regulatory and legal principles etc.) Understands decision-making processes and trends in health care financing and policy. Understands how local health system(s) fit into wider market archetypes (on global, regional, and national levels) based on underlying system principles (i.e., type and nature of payer; sources of funding; approach to health technology appraisal). Identifies opportunities to shape the system to improve pricing, reimbursement, and access, and create health system improvements enabled by our value offerings. Market Access Strategy Develop pricing and access strategy for all products throughout life cycle management not limited to tender, reimbursement, stakeholder engagement and expansion of access. Develops and deploys tailored payer communication materials, anticipating payer interests/concerns and creating multiple possible solutions. Supports development of value creation strategies and plans for customers and stakeholders that go beyond the clinical evidence (e.g., Integrated Care, Patient Support Programs), to ensure, optimize and sustain access and product uptake. Successful subsidy listings (MAF, CDL and Bluebook) for relevant products. Data and Analytics Understands how evidence is used in decision making and how it impacts various payers & their stakeholders (e.g., providers, patients, health systems). Strategic Pricing and Contract Strategy Develop and implement innovative pricing models for existing and new pipeline products to ensure optimum patient access to Astellas products. Understands compliance considerations and risks of pricing practices (competitive law, antibribery regulations) and flags pricing practices which conflict with compliance requirements (competitive law, anti- bribery regulations). Knows innovative pricing models and managed entry schemes (e.g., risk identification, mitigation planning and performance management of schemes). Pricing and tender management External Stakeholder Management Payer & government authorities mapping, engagements and communication plan KEE Management and communication plan Develop, support and governance of Patient Access Programs Requirements Bachelor\' Degree in any discipline. Minimum 10 years in ethical pharmaceutical industry and minimum 5 years\' experience in market access & pricing. Strategic Thinking & Planning & Agility. Strong experience managing product pricing. Proven leadership ability, leading without authority. Executive presence, prior experience with engaging senior leaders. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Cross-Functional Capability - affiliate, regional and global teams. Fluent in English. Oncology products experience preferred. Pre-launch excellence and niche therapeutic area best-in-class launch experience preferred.
