The Role: Market Analyst - Batteries and Energy Storage

The Team: S&P Global Commodity Insights is the leading provider of Clean Technology & Renewables data and insight and is currently looking to recruit a market analyst focused on batteries and energy storage in Penang, Malaysia to support its rapidly growing and successful team, which is located across various locations in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

The Impact: The successful candidate will be keen to work as part of a global team, developing knowledge of the cleantech and renewable energy industry, as well as established analytical and communication skills. They will realize valuable relationships with existing and potential clients, and produce high quality data and reports to support the critical business decisions of our customers.

What\'s in it for you: The individual will be a key contributor to the global Clean Energy Technology team, and will support clients by providing detailed market data, research and insight to customers ranging from global energy giants to innovative technology start ups. They will focus on the quickly developing market for energy storage and batteries, developing deep expertise on technology trends, the competitive environment, business models, policy and supply chains; applying that knowledge to analysis and research initiatives, including updating datasets, and producing reports and presentations.

Responsibilities:

\xc2\xb7 Collect, manage and analyze market data to track and identify trends, policies, stakeholders, projects, and technology developments in the batteries and energy storage area.

\xc2\xb7 Create high quality market reports analyzing the status and outlook for energy storage

\xc2\xb7 Work with both a global team and local colleagues to co-ordinate viewpoints and align data and forecasts

\xc2\xb7 Develop excellent relationships with companies to better understand their perspectives, views, opinions and needs and incorporate into S&P Global\'s research

\xc2\xb7 Support client requests by providing answers to questions about research findings.

What We\'re Looking For: The ideal candidate will have established knowledge and a keen interest in the renewable energy and batteries sector. Prior experience of working in a research analyst role, as well both English and Chinese (mandarin) language skills are also highly valued:

Ideal:

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of the cleantech, renewables and battery industry.

\xc2\xb7 Good communicator

\xc2\xb7 Strong analytical skills, including competent with Excel

\xc2\xb7 Fluent in English and Chinese (mandarin)

\xc2\xb7 Ability to work in a diverse, global team

\xc2\xb7 Ability to understand technical and economic concepts
