Mechanical Automation Engineer

Summary:

We are seeking a Mechanical Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation systems that improve manufacturing efficiency and support Industry 4.0 initiatives. The role involves hands-on mechanical design, system integration, and managing small to mid-sized automation projects.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop mechanical automation solutions (jigs, fixtures, robotic systems, automated machinery). Lead projects from concept, prototyping, fabrication, integration, to commissioning. Create mechanical designs using CAD tools (SolidWorks/AutoCAD). Collaborate with electrical and controls teams for PLC, HMI, sensor, and vision system integration. Troubleshoot and optimize existing automation systems. Prepare technical documentation (drawings, BOMs, URS, FS). Coordinate with suppliers and support cross-functional teams. Ensure compliance with safety and engineering standards.

Qualifications

Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field. 3-5 years of experience in mechanical automation or manufacturing automation. Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD). Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, motion systems, and mechanical assembly. Familiarity with PLCs, robotics, and vision systems is an advantage. Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills. Self-driven and able to work independently or in a cross-functional environment.
