MEMS FCI Operations Department Manager

Description -

Applies expert subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving most complex manufacturing operations technical issues for HP Print Consumer Inkjet Supplies Micro Electronic Mechanical Systems and Flex Circuit Integration processes within established policies. Has the accountability for HPMM site and MEMS FCI Operations (MFO) leadership responsibilities which has significant impact on business results and organizational strategy. Acts as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall policies and long-term goals of the organization. Plans, manages and monitors high-end operational/tactical activities of Staff. Leadership responsibility in building HP Way culture of operations staff, encompassing Employee Engagement, Sustainability, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) etc. Typically manages 10 or more direct reports, Span of Control guidelines may differ from these numbers.

What a MFO Operations Department Manager does at HP:

Accountable for manufacturing operational activities for complex product lines, ensuring performance (Safety, Quality, Yield, Availability, Inventory, Cost & etc.) meets the overall business needs.

Accountable for immediate and long-term strategy of Operations workforce strategy, skillsets mapping & training plan.

Accountable for MFO Equipment OEE performance, maintenance, and tools/spares obsolescent Management strategy.

Accountable for organizations preparedness and compliance in ISO, RBA & Regulatory requirements.

Manages & leading team of senior-level exempt individual contributors and first level managers performance in the organization.

Responsible for hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that the proper tools are in place to support the team and the processes.

Responsible for operational efficiencies and cost savings initiatives within the operation on a broad scale.

Manages the manufacturing activities from a strategic level with internal and/ or external parties, ensuring that operations are achieving key business metrics.

Oversees the development and delivery of complex initiatives that can impact the supply chain globally, typically requiring the leadership of cross-functional and cross-regional teams

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

First level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.

Typically 10+ years of experience in an operations supply chain function (or related fields).

Typically
5 years of people management experience.

Poses strong communication and engagement with operations staff, partners & leadership team.

Advanced knowledge of manufacturing management, business and technology requirements and strategies.

Advanced communication skills catered to a wide variety of audiences (e.g., written, verbal, presentation), mastery in English and local language.

Knowledgeable of Malaysia specific legislative and regulatory compliance. Utilizes the expertise of others as necessary.

Advanced qualitative and quantitative analytics and data modelling skills.

Advanced project management and project sponsorship skills.

Advanced people and stakeholder management skills, including managing partners & teams across different geographical locations.

Advanced influencing, consulting, and negotiation skills (e.g., ensuring strategic alignment with HP goals and objectives).

Excellent business acumen.
