Role Responsibilities To provide strategic and operational Health, Safety and Wellbeing leadership across all areas of the organisation within the Region. To implement the Health, Safety and Wellbeing framework & strategy of the Bank through closely working and enabling the supply partners. Responsible for the management, governance and assurance of health, safety and wellbeing strategies, policies, processes and procedures considering best practice and the operational needs of the business, thus ensuring that SCB complies with all current HSE legislation. Strategy Awareness and understanding of the Group\'s business strategy and model appropriate to the role Lead the implement the health, safety and wellbeing strategy for the Group within the region Accountable for assurance of the delivery and implementation of global strategies and programs for health, safety and wellbeing within the Region Business Awareness and understanding of the wider business and market environment in which the Group operates Subject matter expertise. Provide expertise and specialist support on all aspects of health and safety management, including physical and mental wellbeing Safety management. Coordination of all activities associated with health, safety and wellbeing management. Contingency Planning / Business Continuity. Participate in Regional Crisis Management Teams, and assist with the testing of Country and Regional level contingency and crisis management plans to ensure timely and effective response in an emergency or crisis. Supply Partner Management. Proactively manage all H&S related supply partners and vendors, and non-HR wellbeing vendors. Budgets and Project Management. Manage budgets efficiently and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget to agreed standards. Actively identify opportunities for cost savings through simplification or collaboration. Property Due Diligence - Review and approve due diligence of new premises, layouts, fit-outs and other key health, safety and wellbeing related details of new projects. Provide support to country H&S staff in this regard. Investigations and safety reports - Review and approve safety investigations and corrective actions. Provide support to country H&S staff in this regard Crisis Management . Advise Senior Management on H&S during emergencies and participate on the Regional Crisis Management Team. Actively participate in the management of any emergencies that affect countries within the Region Safety culture - Monitor safety culture and provide support to improve safety culture in country and region Processes Accountable for assurance of the delivery and implementation of global policies and procedures for health, safety and wellbeing within the Region. Responsible for managing and assuring the Group Safety & Security Policy and Standards in the region People & Talent Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values.Set appropriate tone and expectations for country H&S teams and work in collaboration with supply partners. Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people, and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles Mentor, coach and motivate country H&S managers. Providing necessary support and advice Employ, engage and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles. Review team structure and capacity plans. Set and monitor objectives for H&S staff and provide feedback in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives, all in conjunction with supply partners Risk Management Maintain an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them. Provide second line assurance under the Group\'s Risk Management Framework, including relevant Operational Risk Framework ownership for health & safety (Safety & Security risk sub-type). Ensure the effective application of the risk management framework to evidence that existing health and safety governance and risk control processes are effectively implemented and are adhered to across the Region Act as the point of contact for the Bank on all matters relating to H&S risk within the Region Provide assurance that all material risks are identified, assessed, mitigated, monitored and reported in accordance with the operational risk framework and ensure controls manage risk within acceptable levels Review and approve mitigation action plans for health, safety & wellbeing risks (medium and above). Provide assurance that applicable external laws and regulations and internal policies, procedures and other risk control requirements are identified and implemented Influence the risk management culture of the Property team Governance Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the Group\'s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas Regulations : Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role. Assure Group policies, strategies, standards and guidelines for health, safety & wellbeing management are being implemented within the Region. Monitoring the effectiveness of policy, standards and processes, and take necessary action when required Country H&S Action plans - Review and approve country health, safety & wellbeing action plan in line with policies, strategies, standards, guidelines and health, safety & wellbeing risk profile of the country Regulatory compliance. Ensuring that the Bank meets and evidences compliance with all local H&S regulatory requirements. Assist country H&S managers and businesses with guidance on implementing policies, strategies, standards and guidelines to ensure compliance. Audit and Compliance Carry out other second line assurance activities such as H&S audits, inspections, H&S Reviews etc. Regulatory & Business Conduct Display exemplary conduct and live by the . Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct. Lead the Regional Health Safety & Wellebing team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank\'s Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients Effective Financial Markets Financial Crime Compliance The Right Environment. Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters. Key stakeholders Regional : Property, BCP, Security, Legal, Compliance, Human Resources, CEO, Corporate Affairs and other stakeholders as required.
