Reporting To: NPI Manager

The NPI Engineer oversees the introduction of new products, ensuring smooth transitions from first article qualification to mass production.

Key Responsibilities

Report to the superior and HOD, managing first article qualification and mass production readiness. Plan projects using Gantt charts, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure timely implementation. Review customer 3D data, drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications. Conduct DFM, PFMEA, process capability studies, and tolerance analysis. Develop process flows, BOMs, process drawings, and packaging standards. Serve as the main technical contact for customers, providing updates and leading discussions. Identify and resolve issues during project execution, including post-mortem analysis. Review jigs, fixtures, and propose cost-reduction measures. Provide technical support, training, and initiate engineering change requests. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, 5S, and company policies. Prepare reports (8D, RCCA, FAIR) and monitor project risks for timely delivery. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Attitude is prioritized over formal education. Preference for leaders who engage on the production floor rather than managing remotely via emails. Candidates must be flexible to work overnight when required for project completion. Age: 30s-40s Employees who meet project deadlines can receive performance-based rewards, including 4 to 6 months' bonus. Current benefits: 13th-month salary + profit-sharing of 15%-20% Currently, they provide sponsorship and training to students, enabling them to work directly at UWC upon graduation. Preferred candidates: Experience in SME or Contract Manufacturing (CM) & Manufacturing, with expertise in purchasing + assembly processes rather than a single function. Talent sourcing suggestions: SAM Meerkat, Benchmark, SME, ACM, KEMICON, VAT, etc. Open to all races, but for high-level positions, Mandarin speaking candidates are preferred due to frequent travel to Europe (where halal food options may be limited). Non-Mandarin candidates are primarily assigned to Penang-based projects.

Pay: RM2,675.76 - RM7,903.01 per month
