Job Description

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Lead the full NPI process from RFQ ? Prototype ? DFM ? Tool Trial ? PPAP ? Full-Scale Production. Collaborate with product design, tooling, and production teams to ensure readiness for new product launches. Develop, optimize, and validate manufacturing processes for new products, including injection moulding and secondary (finishing) processes (spraying, printing, hot stamping). Create and maintain complete BOM, process routing, and cycle-time estimation for cost accuracy. Lead ECN / ECR process, update BOM, SOP, WI & fulfill ISO documentation requiement. Conduct process validation, testing, and documentation (FAI, PPAP, WI, checklist). Identify and resolve technical issues during tooling trial and product ramp-up. Provide DFM feedback to customers and vendors to ensure manufacturability. Drive continuous improvement and process innovation for quality and productivity enhancement. Support Marketing team with technical feasibility and cost estimation for new RFQs. Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015 or equivalent). Provide technical support and training to production teams during pilot and mass production startup.

Qualification / Knowledge / Skills Requirements:

Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Polymer, or related Engineering field. Minimum 5-7 years' experience in process engineering or NPI/product development within plastic injection moulding environment. Experience in injection moulding process, tooling design, and finishing processes. Experience in project management and cross-functional coordination. Skilled in BOM creation, routing setup, and cycle-time/UPH estimation. Hands-on with tooling trial stages (T0-T2) and defect troubleshooting (warp, sink, flash, short shot). Familiar with DFM, PPAP, and ISO 9001 requirements. Proficient in CAD drawing interpretation; Moldflow knowledge is an advantage. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Language: Mandarin & English (required); Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage.

Authority:

Approve DFM reports, trial run readiness, and PPAP documentation. Recommend tooling design or process modifications to improve quality and efficiency. Provide final technical validation before production release. Endorse technical data used for costing and BOM approval.

Working Condition:

Work base: Office and Production floor. Frequent coordination with tooling vendors (local and China). Normal working hours; flexible for tooling trials, debugging, or urgent project needs. Moderate travel for supplier visits or tooling verification.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

Accuracy of BOM and cycle-time estimation (>90%). Percentage of new product launches completed on schedule and within approved cost. PPAP/FAI approvals achieved without rework. Trial issue closure rate within defined timeline. Process yield improvement during NPI ramp-up. Timely support and response to Marketing and Production teams.
