The Engineer II, New Product Introduction (NPI) is responsible for driving product readiness from development to full-scale manufacturing. This role supports product design teams, enhances manufacturability, and ensures safety, quality, and operational efficiency. Working closely with Product Development, Operations, and cross-functional teams, the NPI Engineer will lead projects, introduce new processes, support global transfers, and ensure seamless execution throughout the stage gate lifecycle. The position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and effective collaboration across global teams.
Job Responsibilities:
Collaborate with product design and development teams to improve manufacturability, quality, and overall product performance.
Influence design decisions and process enhancements by applying strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
Work closely with Operations, Manufacturing Engineers, Supervisors, and Technicians to ensure manufacturing readiness and smooth product transitions.
Lead and manage multiple NPI projects, ensuring stage gate milestones and safety/quality requirements are consistently met.
Support the introduction of new processes and assist in transferring products or processes from global sites.
Serve as a core team member representing Operations, acting as the liaison between Development Engineering and Manufacturing.
Participate in continuous learning with senior NPI/Operations Engineers to improve technical and operational competencies.
Develop comprehensive project plans including equipment selection, waste reduction, capacity planning, ramp-up strategies, and cost optimization.
Collaborate with global stakeholders and sister facilities on NPI projects and intercompany transfers.
Prepare detailed process documentation, instructions, and technical guidance for production teams.
Manage internal and customer samples required for qualification builds.
Support global expansion efforts by coordinating product and process transfers.
Conduct process audits to identify opportunities for improvement in safety, quality, cost, waste, and production efficiency.
Ensure all NPI activities comply with established company policies, procedures, and stage gate requirements.
Promote a collaborative, learning-oriented team culture by sharing knowledge and supporting internal customers.
Job Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Minimum 3 years
of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong technical foundation in areas such as
welding, fabrication, physical testing
, and
electro-mechanical design
.
Experience
developing NPI plans
, ensuring process capability, and
transitioning products into manufacturing.
Proven project and process management skills, with experience using structured development systems (e.g., stage gate, Accolade).
Hands-on experience with
Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in cross-functional teams.
Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and influencing skills with positive team feedback.
Excellent English communication skills with strong technical writing and documentation ability.
Experience working in a
global organization with cross-regional collaboration

Experience using
SAP, ERP for BOM management
, routings, and manufacturing documentation.
Strong technical acumen to drive process improvements and collaborate with subject matter experts.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in various development stages.
