Senior Data Platform Engineer

Primary objectives

We are seeking a skilled and experienced engineer to provide Level 2 support on custom-developed middleware API layer to Operational Data Source (ODS) Platform. This role is critical in ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of ODS infrastructure primarily focus on Node.js and MongoDB

Requirements

Required Qualifications/Skills

? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
? Minimum

3-5 years

of working experience in software / IT domains
? Exposure to

API

best practice framework and reporting / analytics systems
? Comfortable to

read and modify codes (i.e. nodeJS, Python) and scripts

? Have knowledge in database development and operations (SQL/NoSQL) and Jenkins CI/CD pipeline.
? Familiar with systems monitoring i.e.

Dynatrace and ELK

? Familiarity with bank products, processes and operations would be an advantage.

? Fundamental analytical & conceptual thinking skill. Ability to work with business squad to determine acceptable solutions.

Key responsibilities

Platform Support & Administration

o Provide Level 2 operational support for the Custom API services, across all environments (Production, DR, UAT, SIT) as primary support. Also providing support for integration to MongoDB.
o Perform routine maintenance, health checks, and performance tuning to ensure platform reliability and optimal performance.
o Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, escalating to Level 3 or vendor support when necessary.

Deployment & Environment Management

o Execute deployment activities for data pipelines, API services, and platform upgrades across environments.
o Coordinate with development teams to package, validate, and deploy solutions in accordance with release schedules.

Data Operations

o API Services Support
o Support deployment and operational readiness of API services that expose and consume data from MongoDB.
o Troubleshoot API-related issues and ensure integration stability with downstream systems.

Incident & Problem Management

o Investigate and resolve platform-related incidents, escalating to Level 3 or vendors when necessary.
o Maintain logs and records of incidents, resolutions, and deployment activities.

Stakeholder Engagement

o Act as a liaison between business squads, developers, and product principals to address platform-related issues and enhancements.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution of support tickets and proactive platform improvements.

Architecture & Design Participation

o Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions, ensuring platform designs meet scalability, performance, and maintainability standards.
o Provide input on integration strategies between ODS and downstream systems via API services.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

o Maintain comprehensive documentation for deployment & support procedures, platform configurations, and operational guidelines.
o Ensure compliance with internal standards and audit requirements during support and deployment activities.
o Support knowledge transfer and training for Level 1 support teams and other stakeholders

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
