Job Description


As an Operational Manager at SOCOE, you will play a pivotal role in managing on-the-ground projects and collaborate effectively with the Project Manager to ensure the success of our project. You will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing day-to-day operations, including managing logistics, building strong community relationships, and leading a dedicated team. This position demands a deep understanding of Sarawak\'s rural areas, proficiency in the local dialect, and a willingness to travel extensively to remote locations. Job Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to align project operations with overall goals and objectives. Provide timely updates on project status, resource allocation, and potential challenges. Foster effective communication and coordination among project team members. Interface with clients, external stakeholders, and internal teams to address operational aspects. Support the Project Manager in monitoring project timelines and addressing operational factors impacting the schedule. Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, reports, and records. Assist in preparing project status reports and presentations for stakeholders. Allocate and manage resources efficiently for successful project execution. Monitor resource availability and adjust plans to meet project requirements. Lead and motivate project teams, creating a collaborative and productive work environment. Provide guidance to ensure successful project delivery. Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Ensure project deliverables meet established standards through quality control measures. Conduct regular evaluations to identify areas for improvement in project processes. Take charge of day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and alignment with organizational goals. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance overall productivity. Manage logistics and supply chain activities, coordinating timely resource delivery to remote locations. Optimize transportation and distribution processes for cost-effectiveness. Demonstrate fluency in the local Sarawak Dialect to effectively communicate with community members and team members. Willingly travel to rural areas frequently to oversee operations, engage with communities, and address on-site challenges. Job Requirements: Proven experience in operational management, particularly in rural or remote settings. Familiarity with Sarawak\'s rural areas and a deep understanding of local community dynamics. Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and inspire teams. Demonstrate fluency in relevant local languages such as Hokkien, Iban, Bidayuh, or Bahasa Sarawak, in addition to English and Bahasa Melayu. Problem-solving abilities and adaptability to address challenges in remote locations. Willingness to travel extensively to rural areas as required.
