About the JobJoin a leading Original Design Manufacturer specializing in alloy wheels, with three manufacturing facilities located in China, Taiwan, and Melaka, Malaysia. Their main business operations focus on distribution and manufacturing.We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Painting Engineer to join our client team. The ideal candidate reports to the Painting Section Head and will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, implementation, and optimization of painting processes for alloy wheels.Job Responsibilities * Process Design and Development:

  • Develop and optimize painting processes specific to alloy wheels.
  • Select appropriate paint types, application methods, and equipment suited for alloy wheels.
  • Design and set up painting systems, including spray booths, curing ovens, and ventilation systems.
  • Quality Control:
  • Establish and maintain quality standards for painted alloy wheels.
  • Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure compliance with industry and company quality specifications.
  • Implement and maintain robust quality control systems and documentation.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
  • Monitor, maintain, and calibrate painting equipment to ensure consistent performance and finish quality.
  • Troubleshoot and repair painting equipment and systems as needed.
  • Develop and oversee preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
  • Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
  • Ensure all painting operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate safety measures.
  • Provide training to staff on safe painting practices and equipment use.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in the painting of alloy wheels.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in painting technologies relevant to alloy wheels.
  • Training and Development:
  • Train and mentor junior engineers, technicians, and production staff.
  • Develop and update training programs and materials related to painting operations for alloy wheels.
Qualifications & Experiences Needed
  • Candidates must possess at least Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of working experience in a painting engineering role, preferably within alloy wheel or automotive manufacturing.
  • Good communication & presentation skills in Mandarin, English, and Malay.
  • Knowledge and experience in IATF 16949:2015 will be an added advantage.
