Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced

Payroll Officer

to manage and process the organization's payroll in an accurate and timely manner. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with relevant legislation, maintain payroll records, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payroll-related queries.

Key Responsibilities:

Process payroll for [weekly/bi-weekly/monthly] employee cycles, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Maintain payroll records, employee data, and related documentation in payroll systems. Ensure timely and correct payment of salaries, wages, bonuses, and deductions including taxes, insurance, retirement contributions, and other withholdings. Prepare and submit relevant payroll reports to management, auditors, and government authorities. Reconcile payroll accounts and coordinate with the finance team for month-end and year-end closing. Handle employee payroll queries and resolve discrepancies efficiently. Stay updated on changes to payroll legislation, tax laws, and best practices. Collaborate with HR and Finance departments on employee status changes, benefits, and entitlements. Assist with audits and ensure proper documentation is maintained for compliance purposes.

Requirements:

Essential:

Proven experience as a Payroll Officer, Payroll Clerk, or similar role. Strong knowledge of payroll practices, employment legislation, and tax regulations. Proficient in payroll software and MS Excel. Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Preferred:

SPM/ diploma in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field. Certification in Payroll (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional - CPP, or local equivalent). Experience with enterprise payroll systems and large employee headcounts.
