What will you be engaged in?
As our new Payroll & Operations Support, Specialist , you will be responsible for

Payroll Management

Manage payroll processes for SOCAR and TREVOR, working closely with stakeholders for payroll related and managing in-house systems for Malaysia\'s payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll.

  • Maintaining all aspects of payroll cycle delivery, including end-to-end payroll processing, year-end payroll process and tax reporting. Ensure that all regular, supplemental and equity compensation transactions are correctly taxed and reported
  • Propose, improve and maintain effective payroll policies, procedures and controls
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the payroll process
  • Reconcile all payroll-related accounts. Prepare and file required payroll reports, payroll journals and tax filings. Prepare monthly payroll, general ledger payroll entries and reports requested by Finance
  • Assist with both internal and external audit exercise and implements corrective actions eliminating the root cause of issues as needed
  • Subject matter expert for statutory matters such as EPF, SOCSO, Income Tax and other Acts relevant to payroll and payroll audit. Keep abreast with payroll regulatory changes in and ensure compliance with the new regulations
  • Act as the first point of contact, communicate and manage for the outsourced payroll provider
  • Response to employees\' queries in a timely manner. Act as the conduit for any employee queries that require input from payroll providers
  • Drive to improve the payroll and reporting process continuously
  • Responsible for maintaining processes associated with interfaces with third-party systems
  • Assist in various HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Operations Support
  • Support all aspects of People Operations Services, including strategy development, design, and implementation
  • Assist in planning and executing people operations initiatives throughout the employee life cycle, including probation, performance reviews, job levelling, reimbursement, company policies, restructuring, redundancy, disciplinary actions, offboarding, and contract variations
  • Support ensuring documentations of services to meet established targets through continuous evaluation, quality assurance, and focused improvement efforts.
  • Provide support in managing the People & Transformation budget
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to deliver P&T strategy, processes, and provide ad hoc project support as assigned by the P&T Operations Manager
  • Assist employees with HR-related topics such as leaves, benefits, and other employee needs
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the People Operations team to ensure well-documented processes
  • Maintain and update SOCode accordingly
  • Maintain and update SONet

  • Equipped with a Bachelor\'s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent
  • Minimum 1.5 years of relevant working exposure with strong interest to handle payroll function
  • Experience in the Employee Lifecycle area/Generalist is an advantage
  • Knowledge in Employment Act, Regulation of SOCSO, income tax, and EPF
  • Attention to details and ability to produce accurate work
  • Good knowledge in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheet formula/functions
  • Strong work ethic with a positive attitude and good analytical skills
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Solid customer service mindset with good communication and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Possesses high degree of professionalism, perseverance, and grace in servicing clients
  • Resourceful, proactive, attention to details and a good team player
