Payroll Specialist \xe2\x80\x93 main responsibilities
  • Processes payroll for clients\' workers (\xe2\x80\x9cworkers\xe2\x80\x9d) every pay period.
  • Performs the distribution of salary through direct transfers to workers\xe2\x80\x99 bank accounts or issuance of paper checks for certain countries.
  • Updates and maintains client\xe2\x80\x99s workers data in the database.
  • Ensure pay slip is generated accurately, distributed timely and compliantly to workers.
  • Computes workers\xe2\x80\x99 net pay based on time records, benefits, taxes and other relevant item.
  • Responds to inquiries on salaries, deductions, attendance, time records and other payroll-related matters.
  • Process any changes in exemptions and job status.
  • Completes payroll reports for record-keeping purposes or managerial review.
  • Process payments to relevant authorities per statutory stipulated schedule, i.e. monthly tax payment to tax authority, etc.
  • Adheres to payroll policies and procedures and complies with relevant law.
  • Identifies, investigates and resolves discrepancies in timesheet and all payroll related tasks.
  • Ad hoc tasks as and when requested by the Company
Payroll Country Owner \xe2\x80\x93 additional responsibilities
  • Supervises designated payroll team members
  • Determines organization\'s tax obligations by calculating national and council taxes as well as National Insurance contributions
  • Registration/deregistration of countries\xe2\x80\x99 statutory social benefits to the relevant local authorities
  • Responsible for quarterly / semi-annual / annual statutory processing to ensure compliance per statutory requirement, such as annual year-end tax filing (request relevant documentation from staff, compute relevant tax processing, produce required report/form for filing to tax authority and staff)
  • Acts as the country expert in payroll-related matters
Payroll In housing - additional responsibility
(In housing is a business initiative to bring our payroll processes in-house)
  • Lead the in-housing initiative which involves importing payroll data onto designated internal system, testing and implementation of payroll system.
  • Updates and maintains payroll processing system and records.
  • Works closely with team members involved in the in housing initiative.
You would also be required to perform a Local HR Representative role which provides HR advisory and administrative support to client workers in a designated country. This includes keeping yourself updated with the latest regulatory changes in the designated country and communicate to the team and client workers accordingly.

Requirements
  • Minimum tertiary education (post-secondary)
  • Work experience as a Payroll Specialist or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations in India
  • Has working experience with payroll related systems and software
  • Deep understanding of the leave system in India
  • Good knowledge of labor legislation
  • Strong organizational skills and able to work under strict deadlines
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and language of countries of coverage
  • Meticulous and has strong numerical skills (good with numbers)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
