Weve helped millions to fight their way through fearsome mobs in Minecraft Dungeons, battle each other and the environment in Rust: Console Edition and most recently worked with Bethesda Game Studios to craft new adventures for Vault Dwellers around the world in Fallout 76. Were growing rapidly and as a result were looking for a People Lead to join our studio in Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur. As the People Lead of our Double Eleven KL studio, youll support the Global HR Manager to deliver a people-focussed service to the KL studio to meet the operational HR needs of the business. The Global HR Manager is based in our UK office, and this is a standalone role in the KL studio working closely with the KL Studio Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a role with both generalist hands-on and strategic business partnering elements. Youll support core practices like performance management, employee engagement and development, as well leading on organisation building initiatives such as building out our wellbeing support framework. In this role you will set up camp at our Kuala Lumpur studio. We are continuing to assess the covid-19 situation, and our studio is set-up with the necessary covid-19 support measures to keep our teams safe. The wellbeing of our teams is at the heart of everything we do, and we are keen that all our teams feel safe and reassured. Strictly no agencies (sorry guys!) and were unable to sponsor a visa for this role. We can support in-county relocation and have a dedicated People team on standby to assist you and your family with every step to us.

WHAT YOU\'LL BE DOING?

Employee Lifecycle:
  • Be an employee champion within the business building relationships with KL team members from their first day to ultimately maximise employee commitment and capability; listening and gathering feedback, providing advice and support as a trusted confidante
  • Induction procedures: ensuring that an appropriate induction is carried out for every new starter in the KL studio
  • Coordinate and host the KL new starter catch up meetings with the new starters and their line manager
  • Coordinate the probation process including setting up probation review meetings, reviewing probation paperwork and issuing relevant letters
  • Lead on visa, immigration and relocation end-to-end process and one-to-one support
  • Exit procedures: conducting exit interviews for all KL leavers
People (HR) System and Reporting:
  • Ensure the People (HR) system accurately reflects any changes to terms and conditions, and current personal details are up-to-date
  • Provide appropriate reports from the People (HR) system, and update trend data
  • Use People (HR) reports and trend data to create regular presentations and business updates
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the People(HR) systems and practice
People (HR) Advice and Guidance:
  • Partnering with our managers to ensure early identification, intervention, and resolution of key people challenges
  • Respond to People (HR) related enquiries, signposting to relevant information and escalating to the Global People Manager where appropriate
  • Provide advice and guidance in relation to People (HR) policies and procedures, escalating more complex issues to the Global People Manager
  • Carry out investigations, including grievance, capability and disciplinary (maintaining records) and representing the organisation at hearings
  • Consult on issues related to workplace relations and performance management
  • Monitor absence and supporting line managers through the sickness absence process
Policy Development:
  • Develop, maintain and support policy development (employee handbook) in line with current Malaysian legislation
  • Maintain, manage and proactively identify ways to improve all the People (HR) policies and procedures in line with current legislation
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest People (HR) trends and best practice
  • Managing and overseeing the KL employee benefits, making recommendations to improve
Health & Wellbeing:
  • Driving all wellbeing activity in the KL studio including implementation and continuous review of our wellbeing framework
  • Engage with line managers and team members on a regular basis to inform them of the wellbeing support available
  • Lead on issuing regular communications relating to health and wellbeing offering, initiatives and best practice guidance
Projects:
  • Participate and where relevant lead on People & Culture projects

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR:

  • Experience in a similar fast paced People (HR) focused role and confident working independently in a standalone role
  • Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office and Google applications, in particular) alongside experience of utilising People (HR) software
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Malaysian Employment, Labour laws and practices
  • Excellent organisational skills, with an ability to prioritise important projects Meticulous attention to detail
  • Good ethical judgement along with the ability to keep sensitive information confidential
  • You are comfortable with ambiguity, able to take charge and get things done despite the unknowns
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills. This includes understanding and communicating respectfully and effectively with candidates and stakeholders from many different countries and cultures
